I hate fish.
I just had to let you all know that.
I've always hated it and I can't stand to eat in a restaurant that smells 'fishy'.
So why the fish picture you ask?
Well, when we went to San Francisco last year we stayed near Fisherman's Wharf and I kinda got 'used' to it, plus Matt (who loves fish - poor guy being married to a fish hater!) has cooked some a few times and I even...for the love of my man.....made homemade fishcakes...went to the fishmonger and everything *shock* I was scrubbing the kitchen, not to mention my hands, for about a week after!
Now places like this fascinate me and I can just about stand the smell. I even tried some lobster whilst we were in Seattle too :)
This was part of the HUGE collection on the Pike Place Fish Co. stall which is very famous for flying fish! When a customer orders a fish, an employee at the Fish Market's ice-covered fish table picks up the fish and hurls it over the countertop, where another employee catches it and preps it for sale.
They found it funny sometimes to hurl soft-toy fish into the crowds and laugh as people squealed. It's childish but very funny and the atmosphere there is great - it must be a fun place to work...apart from the smell!
