Spilled cash starts free-for-all on California freeway
Having read enough Hunter S. Thompson to warp my brain just slightly, the image of a slightly crazed long haired biker swerving his Harley through traffic on a major highway while money floats out a hole from a bag of loot.... .... is not hard to imagine....
MONTEREY PARK, Calif. — It wasn't the man on the hog who found himself being greedy.
Police near Los Angeles say motorists stopped in speeding traffic to gather up bills Sunday after a man on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle dropped a bag of cash.
They took off when the California Highway Patrol arrived.
The biker told authorities a computer bag he was carrying ripped and spilled money across Interstate 10, where people were driving in 65 mph traffic.
Highway Patrol Officer Anthony Martin says he doesn't know how much cash was in the bag or how much drivers made away with.
Ok.... I like bikers and I always wanted a Harley, but have had to settle for a 1985 VMAX for now.... That aside I have to say a Biker carrying a bunch of cash in a bag does not look very legitimate.

The news item on Yahoo's website had the tag line 'DEA [Drug Enforcement Agency] looking for people who grabbed cash on Calif. highway'. That implies that the feds think this biker was carrying drug money that was either from recent sales or to make a transaction. Why else would they be stressing out over the people who stopped to grab the loose cash? It's California we're talking about here, after all.....!
