Why would wallabies want to make crop circles? They're stoned. The wallabies are getting into poppy fields used by Tasman Alkaloids for medicinal opium, and eating the poppies. Once they're high, they run around and create the crop circles, without the aid of GPS units or lasers.

Australia produces around 50% of the world's legally-grown opium for use in morphine. These wallabies are getting it for free. In fairness, though, a hearing on the matter revealed that wallabies are not the only perps: sheep are also known to partake. Maybe wombats and Tasmanian devils are getting high, too.

While some argue that the wallabies aren't getting high when they make crop circles, one eyewitness begged to differ:

"The one interesting bit that I found recently in one of my briefs on the poppy industry was that we have a problem with wallabies entering poppy fields, getting as high as a kite and going around in circles," Lara Giddings told the hearing.
