Nineteen-year-old stripper Elaine Ivanowski is suing Quabbin Regional High School after she gave a lap dance to one of her high school teachers and got into a romantic relationship with another.

Ivanowski's lawyer Richard J. Rafferty says that she should have received counselling once it was revealed that she was romantically involved with 36-year-old teacher John Monfredo Jr.

Ivanowski says that instead of getting the help she needed, a teacher she trusted with her secret asked her on a date, while another teacher visited the strip club where she worked.

Monfredo told a local newspaper that he really was in love with his former student, but did not know whether others at the school were aware of the affair.

Rafferty accuses school officials of allowing Ivanowski to stay in a relationship she should have been protected from. He goes on to say that Monfredo should have been removed from the school.

According to Rafferty, Ivanowski was under such duress that she was unable to take exams, and she was banned from attending graduation ceremonies.

Here is what I don't get. Why the hell is what her career choice the main issue. Lots of people strip and some actually have more then you and I not to mention college educations. The main issue should be that yet again teachers cross the line!! Most importantly why is it after the girl contacts an attorney then teachers are punished. This should have been done when the school found out about it! So lets just punish the girl for working hard to complete school and earning her diploma. STUPID!

The issue is this: it is a school that is supposed to have principles of how to interact and behave. With a proposed 32 million dollar budget and such activities with students taking place, I believe reform is needed at all levels of the organization. As I have publicly stated, a new mission is needed for people, and that definately goes for the school staff. My role as a member of the Finance Committee is to interject my vote and to understand how and where money is to be spent. Is it justified to be spent on such teacher and student activities? I think not. Change will come sooner rather than later.

The article does not say if she passed her lap dance quiz or if at least she received any extra credit.
