Last night when I went to see Super 8 a J.J. Abrams and Steven Spielberg collaboration I had high expectations yet also a sense of not knowing what to expect.   I was pleasantly surprised the story build up was a gradual climax and had nice surprises along the way.  The premises seemingly works  with a group of youngsters filming their own super 8 film only to stumble upon a tremendous epic adventure of UFO crashes, imprisoned Extraterrestrials and chaos that leads to a intriguing story.  The kids also befriend an alien  creature that attaches itself almost in a human-like emotional way with the children.  Overall without giving the entire movie away, this film (Super 8) was well done and had a undertone feeling of E.T. meets War Of The Worlds.  All in all this is a worth seeing film especially if you like this genre.  I score this film 3.75 out 5.00.

Super 8 was filmed in a local town where I  live...was a very positive experience for the area, as the cast and filmmakers were great people. The story does seem to borrow a lot from past alien flicks, but the whole idea of a government conspiracy to hide the truth rings true.
