At this point, there is almost nothing left of Susan Atkins. She is paralyzed on her right side, has had her left leg amputated, and has 2 more months to live because of brain cancer. I doubt that this compassionate release is really for her. I think it is for her family.

I have been a staunch supporter for keeping all the manson people in prison there they belong, but this is above an beyond justice.

I think they all should have died in the gas chamber for what they did. That's what they deserved. But, now, Atkins is so sick. Just let her stay in the hospital where she is. What difference does it make now?

Yes, I think it makes no difference now either. I just don't want her to come out.

This bitch deserves to die in prison and should never be released.  None of them (Manson Family) should ever be released.  In fact, they all should have been executed.  They showed no mercy to their victims, I truly hope Susan Atkins and the rest of the murderous manson family rot in hell for an eternity.

No Justice For Killers

I fully agree with David Bennett.  I am sure Susan Atkins is already rotting literally, but will forever burn in HELL for what she did to Sharon Tate, et al.  NONE OF THE MANSON FAMILY SHOULD EVER GET OUT OF PRISON.  I am quite disappointed that Squeeky Fromme is out...disgraceful.  Just goes to show time forgives all sins of the past...NOT.

Two months to live?  Did everyone check the date of this news story?

I hope she dies a painful death.  No pity for her.  Why the hell would anyone marry someone like that? What kind of marriage is that? She is in prison for life.  I keep hoping Manson will die soon too so those of us who remember that horrific summer can put this to rest.  My prayers are with the families of the victims who live with this everyday, that they have peace.

Well, it's now October, I guess this wrotten bitch has had lots of time to think about the pain and misery she has caused others.  I guess her prolonged agony is Karma coming back to bite her in the ass like it does everyone sooner or later (are you listening O.J. Simpson?)  I don't feel bad for any woman who looks a pregnant woman in the eye and tells her she is going to die and she better be ready for it.  Yes foljks, be careful what you do to others.  Use this as an example of your treatment towards other people and how it can come back to haunt you later.

It's march now and still Susan Atkins is alive, correct me if I am wrong, but didn't her husband James Whitmore say in july of last year that she had 6 more months to live?? The only news about Susan I have heard lately is that her condition is actually improving..makes you think how that can happen, first they tell she only has months to live and now her condition is improving??Must have something to do with all of the treatments the state is paying for..

Isn't this worthless, sorry excuse for a human being dead yet? I thought she only had like 6 months to live a while back...what is taking you so long to die Sadie

Why is it taking so long for Sadie to die?     God works in mysterious ways ;-))

Wake up call

Dear krazz,

She was convicted of killing 2 people, half-wit.  Then sentanced to death.   Somehow I think the 12 people on the jury seemed to think she most certainly did kill someone.  Read the Tate Labianca murder stories, sweetcakes.  It was vile, cruel, and involved torture of a pregnant woman, and killing her and her fetus.  You have it backwards, darlin... the hate was in the eyes of Fromm, Atkins, and their friends all at the direction of "Charlie."  If you think that the intent to rid the planet of people who kill for fun and recreation, by executing them so we don't support their useless, and dangerous, lives for 40 years in prison, is hateful and cruel, then i think you are part of the problem.  Fact is, I do hate murderers, rapists, and morons....(that would be you, but at least you didn't kill anyone).  Gees what an idiot.

You are an idiot.

wow, some of you are really full of vial and hate towards someone who has spent 40 years in Prison and has done everything she can to try and fit into the community!

you should all be ashamed of how you speak!  especially the religious ones here!

Jesus forgives people who ask for forgiveness!  so where are the rest of you?

she was a tormented child, abused and led astray by some psychotic Manson.  she wasn't the leader of the group, she probably was so messed up and scared of what reality was that she didn't know what the hell was going on.

40 years later and she's about to die of Cancer.  yes she may have done some horrible things, maybe or maybe not on her own free will (forever will be debated) but she's paid her dues and for christ sakes people, show a little compassion!  afterall she does have family too you know!

it's not like they grew out of the ground!!!

0
sherrir

Oh gee Russ paid her dues? Surely you jest. All of the manson family will live and die in prison as originally planned, as a christians we should understand that this is actually extemely fair treatment compared to what they should have gotten, and what they did to their victims. I'm very comfortable with this and I hope she is at peace with God.

According to the jury and judge her dues arent paid till she serves life in prison

Sharon tate had family too

0

Seriously? Can Sharon Tate and her baby come back too? No, of course not...an eye for an eye, that's what is needs to be...Sharon's family can't ever see her again or be with her if she had been sick...Susan took that ability away from both Sharon's family as well as her own.  Rot til you die and then live in hell.  No forgiveness for murdering baby killers.

It amaze me how people will not forgive others when they wrong others.  Have you ever wrong someone and wanted to be forgiven, no matter what the circumstances was? When Jesus hung on the cross he stated "Forgive them for they know what they do," and he did not wrong anyone. Do not ask forgiveness if you are not willing to give it. The Bible also states "Unforgiveness will send YOU to hell." Everyone deserve to be forgiven, but they do have to pay for what they have done.

Oh please, IF there is a GOD he/she would never have let this happen to begin with.  As far as not forgiving and going to hell for it, is not forgiving the same or worse than what these Manson followers did? Grow up.  She needs to stay right where she is. The families of the people she was involved in killing didn't have the pleasure of holding their family members hand as they died.  She doesn't deserve to be let out.  Compassion???? Where was hers?

iam glad to know that iam not the only one who feels this man took children and used them for his evil ways, he is lucifer at work in this troubled world, i just pray for our children in todays tryin times and people like charles manson. the devil is workin over time, trying to tear our familys and lives apart. GOD BLESS!

amen to that. I can't imagine what sharon and all the rest went through and for what.  God will take care of them and send them to the devil if they haven't repented. The lake of fire poetic justus.

Did she show any copassion? Who cares if she is dying with cancer?  Did she care about the families that she distroyed 40 years ago? I think the problem with people is that they forget to soon.  What about the innocent fetus who never was born, thanks to this monster who killed its mother.  I dont buy this follower crap, or he or she was sick or abused.  Everyone should be held accountable for their actions, and mabie if they were, and sociciety was not so eager to pass them off as sick or crazy, these evil demons would think twice about killing innocent people.  Let her die with no pain meds, and no dignity, The same way she did the victims.

0

What if noone show you compassion for the things you have done.  Judge not or you will be judge by the same measure you have judged. What they done is wrong, and have to answer for their actions, but they do deserve compassion and forgiveness.

Susan Salerno

Yes, she has family, but she denied Sharon Tate the same chance. You are a moron.

Susan Atkins did some horrible things close to 40 years ago.  Now she is terminally ill, paralyzed, and unable to care for herself.  A compassionate release would not really benefit her personally, but would allow her family members to stay with her.  If someone in her condition is determined ineligible for a compassionate release, then why even have that program?  For that matter, given that she has a good prison record (at least for the last many years), but was always denied parole because of the seriousness of her crimes, why did the state go through the expensive and emotional process of having her parole hearings?  But I digress: her crimes are indefensible, but if anyone deserves a compassionate release, she does.  Again, it would not help her, but her family members.  Just because she acted in a savage manner four decades ago does not mean the state is duty bound to behave withoug compassion.

"her crimes are indefensible, but if anyone deserves a compassionate release, she does.  Again, it would not help her, but her family members. "

Would it benefit her victim's family?  Would it help them to sleep at night knowing that the woman that participated in killing their loved ones has a chance to say goodbye, hug them, touch them, and die in their arms?  While I hope she's made her peace with God, she needs to die where she is at.
