Sydney model Caroline Byrne 'berated' before Gap murder, court told

THE late model Caroline Byrne was seen sobbing uncontrollably as her boyfriend Gordon Wood berated her at a Sydney gym days before her death, a jury has been told.

Continuing his opening address today at Wood's murder trial, crown prosecutor Mark Tedeschi QC said a cleaner at the gym would tell the jury Wood was blocking Ms Byrne's way and abusing her.

He told the jury that three people near a Sydney cliff heard a late night scream which allegedly occurred as model Caroline Byrne was thrown to her death by her boyfriend Gordon Wood.
