T-shirt sniffing the way to a woman's heart
Forget after-shave. Research shows that women really are attracted to the natural body smells of men and in particular to men who smell distinctly different to themselves.
Other research has shown us that we are attracted to people who are often similar looking to us or our parents but this is a case of opposite smells attract.

T-shirt sniffing has been done under laboratory-controlled conditions with consistent results.
Women prefer the odour of men who have major histocompatibility complex (MHC) gene variants that are mostly different from their own.
The MHC is a cluster of immune system genes responsible for detecting and identifying bacteria and viruses that invade the body.
You inherit them from your parents.
The diversity of MHC variants is a reason why people vary in their immunity to various bugs.
Women aren't alone in preferring dissimilar MHCs - so do mice, birds, fish and many other animals.

LotusFlower, I like this story. It's good stuff.
This is so very, very true - although once the body odour has surpassed that sweet-smelling stage into rancid territory, man can keep up with that deodorant, please.
