Takeru Kobayashi Sets Record Wing Bowl 2012

Takeru Kobayashi stepped into chicken-wing-eating history on February 3, 2012. Kobayashi won the 2012 Wing Bowl by devouring 337 chicken wings in 30 minutes. The Wing Bowl eating sessions consist of two 14-minute elimination rounds and a two-minute "wing-off": the cash prize is $20,000.

Takeru Kobayashi, who weighs 127 lbs, defeated Jonathan "Super" Squibb and Bill "El Wingador" Simmons to triumph at Wing Bowl XX. Kobayashi destroyed the 255-wing record set by Jonathan Squibb, who held the Wing Bowl title for the last three years.

Squibb beat his own record, devouring 271 wings. This was Takeru Kobayashi's first Wing Bowl appearance.

You can see video footage of Takeru Kobayashi in action at the Wing Bowl. It's fascinating and somewhat nauseating.
