Ted Williams, A Homeless Man In Columbus, Ohio Has A Great Radio Voice: Youtube Audition Someone In Ohio Broadcasting Should Hire Him
Latest: Cleveland Cavaliers Offer Ted Williams, Homeless Man A Job
Update: Ted Williams May Have A Some Work
It seems Ted Williams, the man with the golden radio voice got some job offers. The note below was posted the Columbus based, WNCI's Facebook page.
He'll be on with Dave & Jimmy Wednesday morning at 7:15. We're going to try and find him some work!
All-Points Bulletin to Radio Programmers, Especially In Ohio
On many days, Ted Williams stands on the side of the road holding a sign that reads, "I have the God given gift of a great voice. I'm an ex-radio announcer who has fallen on hard times. Please any help will be greatly appreciated."
Well, a video of Ted Williams surfaced on the website for the Columbus Dispatch newspaper where the homeless man was interviewed and briefly told his story - how he fell in love with radio, went to school for it, fell on hard times (drugs, alcohol) but is now two years clean.
He also did an impromptu audition for any possible radio jobs via Youtube.
Ted Williams is looking for work (and work in radio would obviously be great). Having worked as a broadcaster for over 15 years trust me this Ted Williams has a great broadcast radio voice.
The Youtube user who posted the video is Ritchey: I suspect if you send him a message you could get in touch with Ted Williams.

Don't Speak (not verified)at 16:15 on January 4th, 2011
I wish I could speak half as well as Ted. I've got an awful speaking voice.Sometimes I've wished I was dead because people have said 'what?' over and over again. :(

It's all good. Took me two years of speech therapy at a young age to fit into my local dialect. Practice and the want to get better is what it takes.

I think oppertunity is a unique charateristic of what makes our country so great. Ted obviously has a gift and posseses an optamistic direction of which he would like his life to be heading in. would make a pretty good cinderella story , how a mans broken dreams became his saving grace. good luck Ted Williams!

Mister Williams belongs to radio business. There's no need to convince anyone he does, just listen to his voice! He's a talent.

Dear Mr. Williams, (you have earned that respect and so much more)Congratulations to you. We wish you much success, and for our Dear Lord to continue to Bless You and Your Family. I sincerely hope you will consider devoting some of your time preaching to our school children about the hardships of entertaining drugs, alcohol, and falling to peer pressure. You have the skills and talents to save some lives from the evilness of addiction.Your God given voice will ring loud and clear to our next generation. PS - I personally miss your longer hair in the pics from Columbus.Looking forward to seeing and hearing you in the media. God Bless You, Mr. Williams!
