Armed Teens Pose with Bullet-Ridden Pic of Obama
A photo has emerged of seven teenagers, most of them carrying various firearms, posing around a t-shirt depicting US President Barack Obama. The shirt is riddled with bullet holes. The photo was taken by a cop: Sgt. Pat Shearer of the Peoria, Arizona Police Department.
Clearly not in the cybercrime department, Sgt Shearer posted the photo to his Facebook page. One of the kids in the photo, a student at Peoria Centennial High School, also posted the photo to Facebook.
Unsurprisingly, the photo has caught the attention of the Secret Service. Pat Shearer, who has apparently never heard of Arizona's own Gabrielle Giffords, said, “I don’t think that the shooting of that T-shirt is that big of a deal. It was more of a political statement."
The Secret Service has an Internet Threat Desk. If you're dumb enough to post pictures of yourself posing with an assault rifle next to a bullet-ridden picture of the President, yes, that's your First Amendment right, but you will get attract the attention of guys in black suits, and we don't mean Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones. Just be ready for that.
Jay A. Davies, a police spokesman, said in an e-mail that the department was conducting “an administrative investigation into any possible policy violations on the part of our employee.”
