A man in Thailand married his dead girlfriend.

Chadil Deffy, also known as Deff Yingyuen, married Sarinya Kamsook in a ceremony that took place in Thailand's Surin province. Kamsook died in an accident on January 3, 2012.

The couple had been together for almost a decade and had plans to marry. Deffy thought going through with their planned wedding would be a way to find closure.

The groom, who works as a TV director, had a film crew on hand to record the wedding ceremony.

Deffy wore a hat and dark suit while his bride lay on the ground in a white wedding dress. He placed a wedding ring on her finger, then kissed her hand and forehead.
