Tizzie the cat is 36 years old, which is about 160 in cat years. This makes Tizzie the world's oldest cat.

Tizzie was taken in by Cowell's mother Winifred in 1973 after being found on a railway line. He later took over responsibility for the cat after Winifred was no longer able to look after her.

Tizie's birth records are lost in the mists of time, but photographic evidence remains: pictures of Tizzie in the mid-seventies.

"There is a photo of the cat with my mother in 1975 and obviously we would like the two girls who found her, if they still live around here, to get in touch to help verify her age.

Do you know what this means? It means that Mischief is no longer the world's oldest cat.
Another cat who lived into its fourth decade was Cream Puff, who passed away at 38, outliving many rock stars.
If you'r ewondering who the world's oldest rabbit is, it's Heather. She's around 16, which is double the expected lifespan of a bunny.

Russell says Heather was “a diva” in her prime, growling if the cat got too close. Now, she says Heather is still sassy, but spends her days resting on a comforter, munching on hay and enjoying the sun.

(We became interested in this because JeffHuang told us that the world's oldest dog died)

This begs the question: who is the world's oldest hamster? Nobody knows for sure, so if you find out, please let us know.
