Tofu license plate 'ILVTOFU' deemed 'obscene'
Kelly Coffman-Lee in Colorado wanted to get a tofu license plate with the letters 'ILVTOFU' to tell the world about how she loves the bean curd and her vegan diet. However, the Division of Motor Vehicles have decided that her suggested letters could be deemed obscene and have decided not to allow it.
'FU' could be read as sexually based language and that is not allowed.
Officials meet periodically to ensure state plates stay free of letters that abbreviate gang slang, drug terms or obscene phrases.
The 38-year-old Coffman-Lee says tofu is a staple of her family's diet because they are vegan and that the DMV misinterpreted her message.

Some guy in front of me one day in Oregon had "KCAZZO" on his plate.
In Italian it is "che cazzo", and means "what the cock", as in "what the ___".
I had to laugh.

OICU812...
No TOFU here... I saw it right away.
License Plates are on thing. How about screen names? Many get quite creative there also.

I'd never thought of that. I've been eating Tofu and walnuts for breakfast for years. Maybe I'll switch back to eggs and sausages now.:)

How about placing a huge tofu decal on her hood? That would clear the dirty minds of people who would misinterpret the license plate. But then again, it wouldn't pass the standards of DMV.
