From urban legend to reality: a Taiwanese man was hospitalized after a rat snake, which had been lurking in his toilet, bit his penis as he sat down to take care of business.
Aside from the pain, fear and sheer WTF-factor, there's also the risk of infection which attends getting bitten by a wild animal that's been hanging out in a toilet.

"As soon as he has passed the risk of infection, he can go," the director, who declined to be named, said. "A snake's mouth isn't always clean."

I was always fearful of a snake coming out of the toilet too. Must have been all those childhood years using the outhouse.

Oh you are wicked Jordan, this has triggered a fear I thought was long gone.

(I've never encountered anything more dangerous in a toilet than the odd spider... though it's a pretty odd spider indeed that hangs around in the loo)
