Actor Tony Dow, better known as Wally from the '50s sitcom Leave it to Beaver, is having his artwork displayed the famed Louvre Museum in Paris.

One of Dow's abstract sculptures, titled "Unknown Warrior," will be on display at the Louvre from Dec. 11 to 14. The former child star is one of several sculptors from the Karen Lynne Gallery to have their work displayed in the same museum that houses famous works such as Leonardo Da Vinci's "Mona Lisa" and the Venus de Milo.

After largely giving up acting, the 63-year-old Dow continued to work in television as a director and visual effects producer, while sculpting in his spare time.

This was my first trip to Paris, and I was looking forward to many hours of art bathing. Unfortunately, the Picasso Museum and the The Musée de la Mode et du Textile were closed; but I did get to spend a ridiculous amount of time at the Louvre, as well as the Centre George Pompidou. I wasn't sure what to expect with the combined periods of architecture at the Louvre, and did find the glass pyramid a little out of place upon approach. However, the light-play and shadows it provided, as well as the sheer breadth and beauty of its structure won me over. As my captions say, "meh on the outside, pretty cool on the inside."

Also a first trip to France. What an incredible city! A photographer's dream - so many amazing structures with beautiful symmetry. I'm looking forward to going back next year... maybe I actually make it IN the museum this time.

On a recent trip to Paris I was in awe of the beauty of this great city more then I have ever been; from the architecture to the food, to the great red wine, the culture and just the atmosphere and vibe, there is always plenty to do and plenty to see in Paris.

Was at the Louvre on October 1, 2008. Took this picture through a window in one of the galleries.
