Tot shoots herself with gran's gun

A FOUR-year-old American girl shot herself in the chest after grabbing a gun from her grandmother's handbag while on a trip to the local supermarket.

The girl was critically injured in the incident overnight, which happened when she grabbed the gun while sitting in a shopping trolley, the Associated Press reported.

Witness Lueen Homewood told the State newspaper that workers at the shop in Columbia, South Carolina, grabbed first aid products off the shelves to help the grandmother as she cradled the girl in her arms.
