Travis the Chimp victim to undergo surgery
Charla Nash, the victim of the Chimp attack by Travis the Chimp is to undergo reconstructive surgery soon and has been transfered to the Clevland Clinic in Ohio where the first face transplant was performed just two months ago. Ms. Nash is in stable but critical condition and it is not yet known what kind of surgery she will have.
Previously:
The owner of Travis the Chimp is now insisting that she never gave the animal any Xanax, despite what she said before.
However, Herold said in an interview aired Wednesday morning on NBC's "Today" show that she gave Travis the drug in some tea less than five minutes before he attacked Nash — she even showed a reporter the mug. Police have said Herold told them that she gave Travis Xanax that had not been prescribed for him earlier on Monday to calm him because he was agitated.
Xanax can lead to aggression in people.
The 911 tapes of the incident have also now been released.
The 911 call of the attack by Travis the Chimp has been released and Sandra Herold tells the police to 'please hurry' as the chimpanzee is 'ripping her friend apart'. The chimp can be heard in the background squealing and Herold yells 'he's killed my friend!"
The victim, Charla Nash, 55, remains hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after the chimp, once featured in television commercials for Coca-Cola and Old Navy, attacked her Monday afternoon, police said.
Nash had only just arrived at Herold's house when Travis attacked her and she is now in the hospital. The attack was quite brutal and Herold was unable to pull the large chimpanzee off her friend. She called 911 before she stabbed the chimp with a knife and then hit him with a shovel. Later the chimp was shot by a police officer. It is thought that the chimp may have suffered from Lyme disease, but this has not been confirmed.

Such a sin! They say they might get more aggressive as they age.

This hen you first hear chimp attack 911 call , you’ll think its hilarious. But when the woman tells 911 operators the chimpanzee had “ripped her face off” it gets ugly real quick.
