TTC staff refuse to co-operate with GO transit users (Letter)
Junk mail, junk mail, spam, spam, porn, oh what's this a letter.
Well condensing my massive email account this week I came across an interesting letter from a friend demanding "justice" and perhaps a rebate. After reading my friends plea I realized that I too had been victimized by this transit commissions nickel and diming and that it would be absolutely essential that I re-print a copy of the same letter.
Dear Zee
I told you I would send you a copy of the letter I have prepared for the TTC and I wish that you would take the time to review this letter right away. I am eager to send this letter off to the Commissioner himself but will await your approval.
I travel downtown nearly every weekend and as a GO bus passenger I have never had any trouble invoking the "times two" clause to get myself home.
This weekend however in the presence of two friend I had visiting the city I was made a fool and accused of being an out of towner "are you from Mississauga or something" the fare collector said. I felt cheap, ashamed and embarrassed in front of my guest so I quickly forked out the required $8.25 just to move thing along. I explained to the gentleman that I had used the "times two" clause several times and had never had a problem. The fare collector responded by telling me "not in this city".
Though I'm upset that I was treated like a petty crook and that not one but two TTC ticket agents refused to accept my original TTC transfer plus my GO ticket saying "we don’t do that here, Mississauga and some other cities but not here"
This was tremendously rude but what really upset me was that when I returned home and hopped onto the TTC website http://www.toronto.ca/ttc/timestwo.htm
I found out two stunning facts
#1. I was right, "times two" is a TTC thing. I knew I was right however as Toronto is the only city where I use public transit so there wasn’t a whole lot for me to get confused about.
#2. All this time (at least six months and 15 trips) I have been producing my TTC transfer and GO ticket plus adding an additional 50 cents when according to the website the half dollar wasn’t necessary.
And this is my complaint: Why is it that after 15 trips, all of them accompanied by at least one guest has no TTC employee informed me that it wasn’t necessary to pay the additional 50 cent? No instead, on one occasion I was forced to pay the full return fare of both myself and my guest.
Dissatisfied, Embarrassed and ashamed to use the "red rocket"

I use the ttc right after the GO transit every day from york university to my home in scarborough! They used to let me pay 50 cent for the ttc after showing mt GO transit ticket! Since few days I am forced to pay $2.75 even after showing the GO ticket! I was not even asked in a polite manner, rather the ttc worker just laughed at me and belittled me! What am I do to?
