The image that launched a billion cups of latte. This fish tailed beauty inspired the original logo for Starbucks. They started censoring the image right away. Where the tails meet looked a bit too suggestive so they covered it with some extra scales. The belly looked a bit pregnant, so they reduced the shadowing. Her belly button was reduced too. They cleaned up the fins a bit too. Lastly they made her look a bit happier. Amazingly they left her nipples alone. Our siren would not be so lucky in future iterations. At least they corrected her right eye which looks like it might pop out.
The hardest thing to understand is why a coffee shop named after a character in Moby Dick, chose a mermaid as a logo, and such a homely one at that.
