A letter to this week’s winner
To: Tony
Despite what the forth coming text might imply this letter is of the congratulatory variety, you, Tony Ambrogio are this weeks "paper champion" award winner. Although I have no shame in making this award a podium for my personal views and beliefs the fact that we greatly disagree is of no consequence. Please read on.......If you find it’s too much to stomach, then in the words of one beloved award recipient "greedily accept the grass roots nod" and proceed to the bottom of this page.
Your lowdown, slag job on veteran thoroughbred jockey David Clark was a pitiful display of one sided, motive-based reporting, not exactly sure what or who’s motives in particular however I am sure "the hit" was ordered.
I must admit Mr Ambrogio, that your skills as a hired gun would certainly warrant you many awards oversea, I’m thinking English Press perhaps...........

The Story is one I am all too familiar with and all too unwilling to retell or re-create. The story is a sombre one with no winners, only losers. No true villain or embraceable hero, only two mangled cars, one dead body and a blood alcohol level ridiculously over the legal limit . . .This however is not in anyway an effort to defend any parties involved with this tragic incident, nor to retread an issue that has long faded from the "front page."
This time and space each week is reserved for passing out awards so that’s exactly what will do.
Tony Ambrogio’s, Clark bashing exposé was gutsy, pigheaded and slightly one dimensional but for having the courage to produce an exposé of this intense subject matter with no interviews or available quotes from the accused, no one willing to talk about the incident or its aftermath and nothing more than a police wire and some shady winks and nudges to build your case around takes a set of balls (pardon the pun ladies) to be admired by any "paper champion."
Congratulation, Tony Ambrogio you are this week’s "Paper Champion"

To answer your question, please feel free to read my first paper champions award posting, it should answer the nagging quetion of what it all means?
This weeks award winner may not be based in print, but if I was to devote the award entirley to print journalism the life line of this enchanted award would not be so long. Long live the award.
