Okay, so in actuality, British passports don't look like this anymore, they have the standardised EU / EEA cover. This is a passport cover in leather effect plastic I bought at Singapore airport one time, to remind me of my first passport, and it's many stamps.

Pointless detail: I have only one free page left in this thing.
