Unwelcome deer encounter

This refers to my comments about too many deer in southwestern Pennsylvania on my pic titled "Deer Crossing".

Back in October 2003 - the time had just changed and it was pitch-black when I was driving back from work at around 6:00 pm. A deer decided to cross the road in front of me from left to right. Fortunately I wasn't going too fast - I swerved but could not avoid it completely as it caught the right front corner. The deer had two broken rear legs and the policeman who responded to the accident emptied the clip from his pistol into it to put it out of its misery ... dumb animals! This is what my car looked like the next day.
