As PETA and other environmental and animal supporters across the world protest against KFC here's another bad PR story for the Colonel. Other KFC news at NP here.

Of course this isn't really a KFC crime but one of those stories that seems to confirm our worst fears - don't upset the waiters or the kitchen staff wherever you eat. People wiping your sent back undercooked steak on the floor or even worse against their private parts before cooking it up a bit more and bringing it back with utmost apologies and 9 times out of 10 it tastes wonderful and we don't get ill either. Fortunately most workers are not this vindictive but watch out - think twice before you complain and when you do complain do it politely and with good grace - think to yourself it was probably an honest mistake and will be righted with maybe a little taken off the bill - hopefully you'll survive!

These spitting waiters I think are rare but don't take it from me - ask a waiter.

A police officer and his family have been awarded $40,000 (£20,000) after suing a restaurant that had served them food tainted by an employee's spit and urine.

A jury in Omaha, Nebraska, ruled in favour of Keith Andrew, a police officer in the small town of Sidney in the west of the state.

The court heard that his two sons, then aged four and seven, became sick from the food they ate at a franchise of the Kentucky Fried Chicken/Taco Bell chain in October 2005.

The younger boy became violently ill with gastroenteritis and dehydration, vomited for hours and was forced to spend time in a hospital, the family's lawsuit said.

Maybe it's part of the secret recipe (secret sauce as we say on NP)

Ewww - I never eat at KFC, and now I know I won't ever again! Just the thought of it! (shudder)

That is disgusting. No matter what, I dont think waitors or people in the kitchen should be tampering with people's food. One of the worst things you can do.
