Would you buy 'fresh' pizza from a vending machine?

Well a man who was successful selling pasta in California, now wants to return to Italy and start up a vending machine business that will cook pizza with all fresh ingredients, just at the touch of a button.

The pizza will be made in less than three minutes from flour, water, tomato sauce and custom ingredients for just $4.95. You will be able to choose from margherita pizza and then you can add bacon, ham or fresh greens.

Torghele has named this machine “Let’s Pizza” and will make it available in Italy first and might introduce them later in the United States.

Torghele has released this vending machine through an Italian franchise chain, Brekky. They will serve pizza as well as sell salads and sandwiches.

Vending machines are quite common in Europe and very popular. Last year they had an annual sales record of $33 billion.
Twenty machines have been installed in Germany as a test run.

If you want pizza without soul, then by all means... I'm a firm believer in food with a human touch. But wash your hands first.

Got to be able to SMELL that pizza to know if it is good or not.

Italian pizzas are usually, but not always, thinner than ours, and that appearance wasn't the greatest, but I would want to smell that pizza.

Here is the link to the Widipedia history of pizza. From my time there, I can say that the author has done a good job of explaining how pizza originated.

I had had that on my mind, how the Italians seem to come up with such great different food since I was a kid, and when, during the Gulf War, I saw women in Iraq baking flatbread, I got it.

The flatbread is the key. Then you put on it what you have. The tomato, or pomodoro, wasn't available until Columbus (?) or whoever brought them back from the New World.

Italians bred the "golden orbs" until they became the tomatoes of today, more or less.

Italians had some pizza I really didn't like. I don't lie peas on my pizza. I don't really like potatoe slices, either, but my wife liked it.

One of our favorite pizzerie (plural!) was one run a a Jewish Italian, who spoke English and Hebrew as well. He was full of historic information about any number of things.

What happened to real food? made by real people i n real kitchens? heard recently from a B&B owner that some customers wont' eat real eggs from real hens if they're not in boxes and date stamped and they won't eat fruit because they have to peel it!!! Back to basics for a real life I say!

There is not a chance in hell that I would buy a pizza from a vending machine made in just a few minutes. However, I'm sure lots of people would and a place would be found for this. Maybe schools for example. Most Italians are very particular about what they eat but then again things do change. This is not for me.
