Virgin's Success Kid Billboard Defaced in London
Virgin Media's Meme Billboard Used to Troll Passersby
When ad agency 18 Feet and Rising were approached by Virgin Media for a billboard campaign, someone at the agency probably turned to Reddit (which was likely already open in an inactive browser tab).
"OOh! We'll use a meme! How about Success Kid?" Seemed like a good idea at the time, and the billboard, featuring Success Kid and the tagline "Tim just realised his parents get HD channels at no extra cost" went up in New Cross Gate.
And then the trolls struck. Some as-yet-unknown person or persons plastered up some replacement text, which reads, "I fisted your mum last night!". Goldsmiths University students, we're looking at you.
