Wannabe DJ breaks into UK Radio Station
A wannabe DJ has been arrested after breaking into Birmingham radio station Galaxy 102.2.
The station's automated output was interrupted and obscenities were broadcast, before the transmission was replaced with a feed of Galaxy Yorkshire.
One listener, who was driving at the time described the moment he heard the broadcast and said he almost crashed his car. The wannabe FatBoy Slim did manage to announce the station name and strap line at least once but was arrested by local police shortly afterwards.
Some commentators have said incidents such as this would never happen if there had been an overnight DJ. A situation increasingly rare, as UK commercial radio stations continue to make staffing cuts and increase network automation.
It's not clear what action UK radio regulator Ofcom will take.

A man's been arrested after someone forced their way into the studios of Galaxy Birmingham early this morning.
It's understood the station's networked output was taken off the air for a time, and obscenities were broadcast. The output was later replaced with a syndication of Galaxy Yorkshire.
A spokesperson for Galaxy told RadioToday.co.uk: "In the early hours of this morning, Monday 17th November 2008, there was an incident at the radio studios of Galaxy 102.2 in Birmingham. A man forced his way into the station but was arrested by the police at the scene. We can make no further comment at this stage."
