Arab states meet to reinvigorate Israel boycott
When I decided to live in Israel, I knew that it would get darkest before the dawn….that; somehow, all of our “kum-bya” prayers would not prevent the hearts of men to grow cold or hide their true evil hearts. But I never thought it would be this dramatic and rapid.
Okay, I am a pollyanic American, who thinks we can “all get along”...But then I come here and find that the world is not so rose-colored as we think.
I am amazed at the press, and see the spin on the truth and its actual events. What equally amazes me is how stupid our leaders are in believing that through negotiations, peace will occur. As if our heart was always good, and the “bad guys” are the ones with an evil heart. And, all we have to do is sit down and reason with them, and they will see our ways.
But, tell me of a time when that ever worked? Show me where two leaders of diametrically opposed beliefs sat down and a lasting peace occurred….
Was it Stalin and Hitler?
Chamberlin and Hitler?
Arafat and Begin?
How about within our own American borders….
Democrats and Republicans?
House vs. Senate?
It’s not working folks! And it doesn’t take much to see that! We try to cover it up by using words that are not as sharp as reality…
Like 'Man-Caused Disaster'
instead of Terrorist?
‘Conflict’ instead of War?
‘Termination of Pregnancy’ instead of Abortion or better yet, murder of innocent life?
As if these politically correct terms soften the blow or consequences of the action. Talk to the victims of these crimes…I guarantee you, they are not so politically correct. And the perpetrators, although they help spin the truth, their actions, lined up against our Judeo-Christian values, are still heinous crimes.
What? You think God is fooled? You think that He sits there and says “Oh, I thought it was murder; thanks for the explanation that it is really “fighting for a cause”. Or , “Just a set of circumstances that does not fit into your schedule at this time”.
The blood of the victims cries out for justice.
All the while, our world…the only one given to us to rule and subdue by our Creator, is not doing so hot.
People, we are not doing a good job in being stewards to what God has given us.
Now, I am not proposing we have a “love in”. We have already proven that does not work. What I am proposing is that we (YOU AND ME, not the “we” we hypothetically make up to blame-shift our own responsibility) own up to our sins and open our eyes to God’s solutions.
Do you remember what it was like to play monopoly with rules that you made up along the way? I propose that is exactly what we have done with life. “No God, I don’t like your tried and true pathway to peace…I know better than you…”
(just sit and ponder that statement for a while…”I know better than you, God’.)
God IS very specific and direct…”If MY people, who are called by My name, will HUMBLE themselves and pray, (that is acknowledge your sins of injustice to others and to HIM), THEN I will hear from Heaven, AND HEAL their land.
He (unlike us) minces no words. He does not give a plan “b” to an already working plan “a”.
So, what are we going to do about it? Blame shift, or take ownership?
