Wild speculation has been ignited on the internet over a weird looking animal that was photographed on the beach in Montauk.
Jenna Hewitt snapped a photo of the thing in front of the Surfside restaurant .
.
Conspiracy theorists have long speculated on the so-called Montauk Project, alleged to be secret government projects for the purpose of developing psychological weapons. The photo has fueled postings that the "beast" is linked to the shuttered tests.
Wildlife experts have been quoted on various sites with much less exciting theories of a dead animal like a dog or raccoon.
'Alien' creature creates monster stir
THE photograhed remains of a mysterious "creature" washed up on a Long Island beach near New York has led to a frenzy of online speculation.
Hot on the heels of claims from an ex-NASA astronaut about aliens visiting Earth, news of the find has excited conspiracy theorists around the world.
Dubbed the Montauk Monster after the Long Island town where it was found, the creature has prompted speculation it was part of a secret mutant breeding program undertaken by the US Government.
The Huffington Post has even given the creature its own blog.
Meanwhile, gawker.com, which helped break the story, has sought to explain the phenomenon as a viral marketing stunt for a new US TV cartoon series.

ok this is weird looking. like a cross between a dog or cat and a bird. it also looks like it has hooves on its front feet. the scientists say there are billions of undiscovered species in the oceans of the world. this may be one of them.

It's clearly one of the creatures that was living in Sigourney Weaver's fridge in Ghostbusters.

Looks like a very old creature who has finally experienced the light above the underworld. Too much heat must have put it to rest due to its evolutionary adaption to dark and cold environments. Its thin soil toned skin allows minimal heat to penetrate the body, hooflike claws and beak for effective burrowing, sonic bat-like hearing,

you have no idea what you're talking about

It definitely looks like a turtle without a shell. Jeff Corwin says it is a raccoon but it has a beak. Some wildlife pro.
at 23:12 on July 31st, 2008
Jeff Corwin said it looked like a beak because the lower jaw was missing. Corwin was right, it is a raccoon.
Have you ever seen a turtle without a shell? Not like the cartoons! The turtle cannot be "deshelled" and come out looking that "clean", so to speak. This is why it is the Jeff Corwin show and not the J C show!

I think my member fell off while I was swimming and the poor beast has been miscategorized as a REAL monster... lol... It was a monster in the sheets and now a monster on the beach... the ladies always had fond memories mixed with a sprinkle of fear of my purple beast.

LMAO! How long did it take you to notice you lost your "purple monster" Gee, I think I would notice it was gone fairly quickly, LOL!

Its fake!!!! Animals have adaptions to suit their environment. If it lived in the ocean for long periods it wouldnt have a tail and legs, likewise if it was terrestrial based it would have protection over its skin such as fur, hair and feathers. Also a beak is a very specialised eating tool, and im sure they dont come tearing teath. The morphology does not add up. Ok some people will say the ocean is big and vast. This thing is not suited for long distance swimming and doesnt look like it can handle great pressure (deep sea). Who knows maybe its a turtle without a shell.

Turtle shells are attached to the spine.
It's not a turtle.

it cant be a raccoon because a raccoon nose is long then this and i dont think a raccoon nose is like a birds beak

I bet it is a goat of some variety, and it looks like a beak simply because some of the flesh has decomposed from the muzzle.

Its pretty crazy looking thats for sure, Im no expert on turtles but I would have thought it was one out of shell. Whatever it is where is it now, Is it getting tested on??

People, People -with some quick Colombo research I found it’s a “Pit-Bull” they think it was tossed do to it not being able to enter the ring in dogfights anymore (SO SAD). Once you see a photo of it flipped over you can clearly see it’s a dog.

anyone who thinks this is a turtle is stupid. like some of the smart people here i know turtle shells are attached at the spine. the reason it looks like a beak is because its been in the ocean decomposing, same reason it has no hair, the ocean does freaky things and in my opinion it ony takes one retard to yell monster to get all the other retards riled up. >:]

Aww ... its so cute ... Just give it a kiss and wake it up ! It's obviously a unicorn silly !
at 12:12 on December 23rd, 2008
they actually found a unicorn deer creature recently so thats not to far fetched.. haha.. but i have seen that there are what seems to be three pictures.. one with its eye open the same one with the eye closed an it flipped over where it all of a sudden seems to have no fur on the top of its neck and ears.. making it seem like some chopped up photoshop crap.. but i wouldnt be surprised if it was any thing from an unheard of species.. some hybrid freak.. of some disgusting experiment.. and you know if you think about evolution its not like all of a sudden some water dwelling creature just pops up out of the sea an walks around on the land eating grass i dunno about you but i think it would take a few sacrificial sea creatures before they inhabit land

iv gotta say its no racoon or turle or bull dog.. bull dog is probably closest giving its proportions.. its front legs seem to have either finger tips of webbed feat... the back legs seem stubby thou.. it deffinately seems to have some muscular mass to it.. which says to me it must of had some what of a life span

its an alien!its an alien because its space craft crashed in the ocean and and the "creature" swam to mauntawk beach but before he got there a shark bit it so the alien creature got washed up in that beach that is the story! (i saw the space craft and everything!)
