Babies cry immediately they are born or come out of the womb of their mothers. Is it because they understand that they are coming to this unfair world? Unfair because there is no perfect justice, no truth, no peace, etc!
I remember our Prime Minister Meles Zenawi saying that ‘there is no justice and truth in this world, so the choice is to look for the lesser false among the portfolio of many false’. That saying impresses me ever. You may argue that babies cry soon the born even in the old time when there was truth, peace, fairness, etc. I argue that even that time, there was no one perfect except Jesus and his mother Merry. Do you remember Adam violating his creators (God’s) order?
In Orthodox Christian religion prayer, one prayer impresses. In praying about St. Merry, we say ‘O Merry, You are fleshly virgin and Your thought is virgin, tell Your Son forgive us’. One can be virgin in his/her flesh but can there be anyone virgin in his/her thought? Never!
Why don’t people be trustful, tell truth, love each other, do good, etc? Is it not a second of the world’s life we live? We all vanish away, why don’t we do good things in our, love each other and enjoy our tiny life so that babies may stop crying when coming to this world?
