Winnie L'ourson

This has got to be one of the funniest stories I have read in a while. First of all, the images of the innocent and cuddly Winnie-the-Pooh turning violent and attacking someone is bizarre enough. The reason for the attack is because onlookers were "staring" at him. What do you expect when you are dressed up in a costume. People are bound to stare. Finally, the reason for dressing up is that they ran out of clean clothes.

Japanese police have arrested a 20-year-old man who attacked and robbed two people after they stared at his Winnie-the-Pooh costume.

Masayuki Ishikawa was hanging out on a Tokyo street corner after midnight last month while wearing the costume, accompanied by two friends dressed as a mouse and a panther, when he took offence at being stared at, police said.

'It's uncommon to see people dressed up like this, so the victims were watching them. Then the perpetrator came up and said "What are you staring at?"' a police spokesman said.

Ishikawa and his friends beat up the two victims and stole $160 from them, the spokesman said, adding the group had apparently donned the unusual garb because they had run out of clean clothes.

From start to finish, this story is hilarious. Jokes aside, lets just hope Winnie-the-Pooh and his mouse and panther friends did not hurt the two too much and that they used the $160 to buy some new clothes.

What is wrong with you people!!!!!! He clearly attacked the so called "staring people" because they had honey and he had a rumbly tumbly, he simply told the police that the victims were staring so they would think he was provoked.

Haha, how ridiculous!  I would've thought buying new clothes would be cheaper than buying an entire costume.

My son Evan being 'overwhelmed' by Winnie and his furry friends while asleep. A low blow indeed!! A comment by Evan later confirmed all he ever did to Winnie was stare lovingly at him, a lot.

it is ashame that someone dressed as this lovable creature had to do such a thing...maybe he should have just worn a sheet as a toga or maybe they were dirty too and since he is to lazy to do laundry...well that should say something

Knit n Frog

Well, this Winnie The Pooh was indoors at the Disney Store in Manhattan, so he was superfriendly, and did not beat us up for our money. Also, both of us girls pictured with him used to dress up in these costumes for a living. Neither of us ever beat someone up, but we both were punched quite a few times because people thought it was funny (yeah. ha ha). I once was rendered unconscious!

This is the original Winnie-the-Pooh doll as owned by Christopher Robin. Christopher was the actual son of author A.A. Milne. Pooh and his friends Kanga, Tigger, Eeyore, and Piglet are now on display at the Humanities and Social Science Library (a.k.a. the one with the big stone lions) on 42nd and 5th in New York City. Anyone may view them there.

I took Winnie on a trip to Spain and Italy, placed him in various locations, and took photos so that my 3 1/2 year old daughter would feel a bit better about me being gone so long. My favorite is the one in the Colosseum...
