Monkshood Planted at Playground: Deadly to Children, Werewolves
South Lakeland District Counci planted monkshood (also known as wolfsbane) next to a childrens' playground. Either they didn't know what they were planting, or they somehow didn't know that monkshood is one of the world's deadliest plants. Or perhaps there is a werewolf scare in the Lake District that has not been widely publicized.
A local werewolf hunter man who knew his plants noticed the monkshood and alerted the Council.
Local botanist Thomas Gudgeon, who first spotted the plant at Abbot Hall Park, said, "Natives of the Amazon jungle dip their arrows in the plant to kill monkeys in the trees. The monkey is dead before it hits the ground - it's one of the world's deadliest plants."
