A woman in Florida was so outraged that her local McDonalds restaurant was out of her favourite McNuggets that she called 911 three times and filed a police report that she had paid for a ten piece meal, but that the restaurant had run out.
She says she was refused a refund and told all sales were final. A cashier told police she offered Goodman a larger portion of different food for the same price, but Goodman became irate.
She has been cited on a misuse of a 911 charge, but she is being sent a gift card for a free meal.

you have got to be kidding, 911. that is crazy. if anything she should use the non emergency number 311. Really she should have just talked to them they probably ended up just giving a whole meal for free at that time. if people would just relax.

Several words come to mind and I won't write any of them here .... reminds me of another woman from the same state, who called 911 to get cooking instruction for Thanksgiving.
I wonder if there's something in the water that they've all drank? ;-)

This is the exact reason a town in Texas is charging for 911 ...
"you get one free phone call for EMT help once a year. It's called the First Responder's Fee. If you call 911 and EMT's respond to your house more than once in the same year, you'll be charged a $55 fine. City leaders say the goal is to recover some of the response costs, and to stop the overuse of the system."
I must say though, I'd hate to be a senior citizen in that town.

What if you actually need 911 though? That could get so expensive.. although I can see the upside of it as many people dial 911 accidentially from the mobiles or their kids do it when playing around and if they had to pay then that would teach them a lesson.

Like texting, Dialing 911 is something that we all have to learn and teach because it is life-saving in emergencies, the wave of the future. Last month a five-year-old kid dialed 911 and saved his Dad, who was seconds away from a Diabetic coma. Before the EMS arrived, the kid had already poured orange juice into his Dad's mouth !

You people need to lighten up on this lady. Everyone has a different sense of what constitutes an emergency. Besides, McDonalds Chicken McNuggets are a core fulcrum of our economy and serve a critical need in our collective health conscious progressive diet. I even once heard of a man that saved a life in a car accident by propping up the smashed and crushed vehicle by using McDonalds Chicken McNuggets to prop up one side of the car while he performed an emergency egression of the occupants through the driver's side window. This would have been impossible had he not just purchased a 56-piece McNugget Pack and happened to be carrying it with him at the time. The same fate may befall this poor woman whom is only attempting to leverage her tax dollars for the 911 service. If she was promised a McNugget dinner, then she better get one, by gum! Or else it's an emergency response with subsequent litigation! Hallelujah!

This is ridicule and why the 911 system needs to charge now. This sort of abuse has to be fined severely.
