Woman stashes 1kg of cocaine under her wig

CUSTOMS officers who searched a woman’s bulging wig discovered 1kg of COCAINE glued to her head.

The 32-year-old British woman was stopped on Sunday at Vaernes airport in Norway.

She was searched and subsequently arrested on suspicion of cocaine smuggling, authorities said today.

A customs service spokesman said: "The agent thought she had a great deal of hair and suspected that she was wearing a wig.

"The wig was examined and the agents found a bag of cocaine."

Local press reported the cocaine was glued so firmly to the woman’s real hair she had to be taken to hospital to have it removed. 

A British woman has been held on suspicion of drug smuggling in Norway after customs officials found 1kg of cocaine hidden under her wig.

The 32-year-old woman arrived at Vaernes airport near the city of Trondheim and attracted the attention of a customs officer who noticed she had "a lot of hair".

He realised she was wearing a wig and a closer examination revealed a bag of cocaine hidden underneath, glued to the woman's head.

A statement from Norway's Customs service said: "A customs official thought the woman had a lot of hair and found a kilo of cocaine.
