About 2,000 Islamist women gathered at the radical Red Mosque in the Pakistani capital on Wednesday and vowed to raise their children for holy war, days after a suicide bomber killed 18 people after a similar rally.

Chanting slogans of "jihad is our way", burqa-clad women, some with babies, listened to fiery speeches from the daughter of the mosque's jailed cleric on the eve of the anniversary of a commando raid on the complex in which more than 100 people died.

"Our mujahideen (fighters) laid down their lives for the enforcement of the Islamic system in Pakistan. We are left behind to carry forward their mission," the daughter of cleric Abdul Aziz told the tightly guarded rally in the mosque compound.

Just imagine how far religious extremism can lead people do strange, oftentimes dreadful things.  What do you think of this news?

ryanborja, I like this story. It's good stuff.  Those people are CRAZY!  If we keep trying to help or punish folks in that region, we might end up doing the same thing -- that is raising our kids to fight their silly jihad.  Haven't they been fighting over something or other over there since the BEGINNING OF TIME?  McCain said right -- war with people like this requires at least a 100-year commitment.

Yes Duo, this is really unimaginable.  Abominable indeed!  It is like offering your child in advance to be thrown out of a wild wild fire.

Maybe these women are being neglected.

Why don't the Americans send a group of Quaker perverts to breed with these women.  The pacifist nature of Quacker combined with these passion these women possess would be an interesting genetic creation.

This can be easily sold like the character said in the movie ROAD WARRIOR, "This is where we're going. [Unfold a multi-panel scenic postcard] Paradise! X thousand miles from here. Fresh water. Plenty of sunshine. Nothing to do but breed!"

Did someone say something?

I'm sorry.  All I heard was a faint, vacuous echo.
