Wrong Turn Lands Lost Couple on Airport Runway

Pat and Bridget Newman accidently triggered a major security incident at a British airport recently when they took a wrong turn, drove through an open gate and ended up parked next to passenger jet. The elderly couple had been looking for the air ambulance offices near the Norwich International airport to present a $20,000 charity check when they ended up surrounded by airport officers. Two 4×4s pulled up next to the charity fundraisers and three security guards got out, prompting Mrs. Newman to say “whoops.” Whoops indeed, but the couple may not be to blame as the BBC recently did an exposé on lax security at the Norwich airport.
