A Zebra in Atlanta was captured by police after a highway chase that brought rush hour to a stand still. The zebra, 12-year-old Lima, had escaped from the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus while exercising before a show.

Lima led his trainers and police on a 40-minute chase through downtown Atlanta onto the interstate highway. Atlanta resident Daniel Nance saw the whole thing go down.

"All of a sudden a freaking zebra comes running down the street like a car," Nance told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "Five or six police cars were in hot pursuit. And a bunch of officers on foot. But then I got scared, thinking ... what else is loose?"

Police cruisers blocked off all southbound lanes of Interstate 75, and Lima's trainers were finally able to calm him down after he had been led towards an entrance ramp. The zebra had small cuts on his hooves, but trainers believed he was in good enough shape to perform at Thursday night's show.

Oddly enough, this isn't the first time a zebra has been spotted on an Atlanta highway. In 2008, a young zebra was found injured along Interstate 75, and was nursed back to health at Noah's Ark animal rescue center.
