Stuck in an elevator!
I just spent five terrible minutes stuck in NowPublic's elevator, and while in there I had some thoughts. Was it all worth it? Was citizen journalism that important that my life was at stake just by trying to get to work? How important was it, really, to help make news accessible and available to everyone? Was my cell phone camera going to be my only documentation of the last few minutes of my life? Would anyone ever hear my story?
I began to panic, and then suddenly, I realized that everything was going to be okay. As soon as I got out of this elevator I would report my time in the elevator...my Breaking News. Armed with that knowledge I mashed all the buttons on the keypad. The door opened, and I walked upstairs to upload my photo and write my story.
Thank goodness for citizen journalism. It gave me a reason to escape the clutches of a claustrophobic demise.

Kaitlin, this sounds like it must have been a horrific experience. What did we do before we had citizen journalism?
