Study illuminates perils of Internet addiction

A new study is warning health care professionals of the dangers posed by Internet addiction. Although the validity of the addiction is questioned by some professionals in the psychiatric community, a new study drawing on available literature argues that roughly 5 to 10 per cent of Internet users demonstrate problematic compulsions when it comes to Internet use.
