One of the most exciting cities in the world, France invites vitiors to its famous monuments, buildings and heritage sites this weekend.

15,000 heritage sites open doors September 18, 2009

FRANCE’S monuments, famous buildings and heritage sites open their doors this weekend for the 26th Journées du Patrimoine.

Last year the Palais de la République, the Elysée, Matignon, Sénat and Bercy were among the most visited buildings in Paris – however, this year they will be rivalled by the Moulin Rouge, which is taking part for the first time with visitors going backstage.

Oh it is all for free? I'd love to see backstage of the Moulin Rouge, I saw a show there, but didn't get to go backstage... :(

I've been in Europe for 20 years, go to Paris whenever we can and never knew about this. So maybe I'll meet you there. Nice to think about anyway.

You have to keep this website so that you can plan a trip during this event which happens every year. There are no entry fees. This is a great time of year to go to Paris.
