If you like Slurpees, and if you like not paying for stuff, then you'll love Free Slurpee Day at 7 Eleven. The ubiquitous convenience store is offering free Slurpees on July 7 (7/7/11) as a thank-you to its customers.

Free Slurpee Day at 7 Eleven is honored at stores in the US and Canada. An estimated 5 million frozen, slushy drinks will be given away, not taking into account the high temperatures across the US. The Slurpee has 3.7 million fans on Facebook. The Slush Puppy only has 1,888 fans?! Can that be right?

Founded in 1927, some say that the store gets its name from its founding date. July 11 is only the company's unofficial birthday though: Originally called Tote-'em, "7 Eleven" was chosen for its reflection of being open 7am to 11pm, seven days a week. Now it seems that most are open 24 hours a day.

Very sad! Free slurpee yuck! Children from all over walk to the only 1 near by and were trun away! I bet he had cups. He did not what to be a part of it! I will go back and check tonight or early am!

I always take advantage of free slurpee day... it's a great idea for the company to market themselves, make people want slurpees and get the word out about them. 7-Eleven is a great company, but like many nationwide businesses it can have some weak spots. I was surfing the internet and I found this site where people can vent about poor customer service or products they received... it can get really funny.
