 America's Next Top Model - Cycle 11 – Finale Episode Review

Tonight we are down to the final 3 girls - Analeigh, McKey, and Samantha.

The girls will shoot their final CoverGirl commercial and print ad tonight.  From the preview, we learn that the girls will also face the most brutal judging ever! One of their lives will change forever….stay tuned for updates on who America’s Next Top Model Is…

I am totally calling Analeigh for the win, although have an odd feeling that McKey is going to walk away with the title. Either way, Sam will go first, and then it will be between Analiegh and McKey. Obviously this is just my opinion however. It will be exciting though! I do think however, that all three girls are too similar and so there isn't that diversity that we've had in previous seasons. Oh well, wait and see I suppose!

As opposed to the usual two hour finale, it’ll only be on for an hour tonight.

Episode Review:

Tyra tells us “Three girls have survived it all and tonight one of them will be named America’s Next Top Model”.

The three finalists are….

McKey – from Lake Forest, Illinois. Strong yet feminine beauty .
I think she might win.  She takes the best photos by far…but I just think she has a blah personality.

I like her a bit, but she's not my fav. She is a bit scary I think, although takes amazing photos!

Analeigh – from Sacramento, California. Pretty and peace-loving girl. 

My favorite and the one with fantastic hair!

My favourite too! Am still so jealous of her hair.

Samantha – from Woodland Hills California.  Athletic and adorable girl.

She’s the one that annoys me most.  Girl next door but is a bit of an airhead…and annoying.

Cute and takes great pictures, but needs to stop talking.

Tyra Mail (screams!!!) in Dutch ...“Easy breezy beautiful”  Love, Tyra

Analeigh tells us next to the Tyra Mail are their lines…in Dutch..they will be doing their Cover Girl commercial not only in English, but in Dutch as well.

Eeeek! Dutch is hard!

The girls arrive to a boat and are greeted by Mr Jay.  He tells them they’ll be filming their CoverGirl commercial on a boat. The girl with the best commercial will receive a billboard up in Times Square and will also appear in Wal-Mart stores across America.  Mr Jay asks them if they can imagine having that kind of exposure.  Then Whitney arrives. (from Cycle 10).  She shows the three girls some new lip gloss . oh she’s so fake…this is why I didn’t like her…sooo fake. 

Witney is back! Love her, but haven't seen much of her since the last cycle

Analeigh tells us the lip gloss smells really good.  She practices her lines.  She is nervous.  She has hardly slept because she kept waking up screaming Dutch lines. She then describes the theme of the commercial. 

She's too nervous - dont' get all Marjoried out on us Analeigh!

Three girls are on a vacation, having fun and spot a hot guy. They end up kissing the hot guy.  McKey is excited to kiss a hot guy again.  You go girl

He's not hot at all.

Sam is up first.  She wants to be in Wal-Mart (of course you do).  She has really dark eyes in the commercial. That is all I can focus on. Mr Jay didn’t think she brought enough energy to the set this time. Sam is worried the boy they have to kiss might have herpes. Hahaha  Their kiss is funny…cheesy.  I don’t think she did too too bad.

The herpes comment cracked me up!

McKey –Oh dear she doesn’t do well with her lines.  She didn’t do well last time either.  She is nervous and freaking out.  She looks really pretty though!  Oh but she can’t get through it.   She got better…phew! But she did move around a lot from her jitters.

She was ok, not great, but alright

Analeigh – she froze…she completely blanked.  She starts to get teary eyed.  Oooh no!

No Analeigh! What are you doing!!??

Back…she struggles even more with the words…so Mr Jay pretty much had to hand feed her every line.  She took direction well but didn’t find it for herself.  She doesn’t do well at all…oh my their kiss was even awkward.

Now that the girls have done their commercial they will shoot their national ad. 

Sam is up first – she looks pretty.  The photographer liked her energy, but said she did struggle a bit.

It's too fake, the smile is too forced.

Analeigh –he was impressed how she can work her body, but says there is more to modeling than just good posing.

Meh, kind of bland I think

McKey – says she’s cookoo in the head..but that he loved her pretty much.

She is cookoo

Tyra Mail – (no screams…phew) It’s late at night and the girls are pretty tired so for once they didn’t scream.  “Tomorrow you will meet with the judges.  Only two will continue on in the hope of becoming America’s Next Top Model” Love, Tyra

Sam tells the camera “I’m really nervous for panel.  This girl sitting next to me ..something something something… it sucks” (sorry she’s so hard to listen to..she shouldn’t ever talk to the camera…ever)

I stopped listening to what she is saying.

Analeigh also wants this really badly. Says it’s so painful to know it can be over so fast.  She knows she screwed up.  I feel bad for her.

Me too! (tear)

The girls arrive at panel.  I’m not sure what Tyra is wearing.  The final two will be walking in the final fashion show.  They will model for addy van den krommenacker and the final two will be walking in his fashion show.

Individual evaluations:

Sam is up first – they show her best take on the commercial. She was distracted by herself Nigel says. Hahaha.  Her photo was ok.  Her smile looked forced they said. Yeah not model like.

Yeah, I agreed

Analeigh – They show her horrible commercial.   They remind us how well she did last time when she had a teleprompter.  But memorizing her lines she didn’t do well with at all.  They then go to her photo.  Paulina says it looks too much like a head-shot for an actress. 

Her commercial was awful, reallly awful. She could have done better I think, but she has done so well up to this point!

McKey – Tyra is impressed how much better she did with memorizing than she did with the teleprompter last time. Her photo she didn’t show her teeth.  They love it. Says this one was naughty sweet but a lot of the times she looks naughty crazy. Hahaha told her to watch the crazy eye.

She did ok, I am not convinced however.

Time for the judges to deliberate.  When they return Tyra will be announcing who will be walking in the addy van den krommenacker fashion show. 

Oooooh noooooo!  I’m scared for Analeigh….I think she may go!!   McKey for sure has to be safe and I’m thinking Analeigh & Sam will be the bottom two…I’m nervous….very nervous..not Marjorie nervous…but just nervous for Analeigh.  She was my favorite

Back…the judges are deliberating. 

Sam – She has a great personality ,great smile, and  photographs beautifully. They say she looks like a catalog model but is more of an edgy editorial girl. Paulina wants to see how she walks. 

Analeigh – She has the face, but couldn’t perform.

McKey – They love the picture and the performance.  Tyra is scared of her walking on the runway. Says she reminded them of Lerch (Addams Family ) then Miss Jay imitates Lerch. “You Rang” Hahahhahaha funniest part of the show. That was fantastic!

I laughed at that part too!

They’ve reached a decision.  The girls walk back in the room.  There are only two places for the fashion show.

First girl competing in the fashion show is…

McKey  (yea!!!)

Analeigh and Sam step forward.

Tyra only has one photo in her hands.  That photo represents the girl who is a finalist and will compete with McKey in the fashion show. Analeigh has great poses but lacks a soft sweet commercial face.  Then with Sam they see a very commercial girl in front of them, but her picture is confusing because she didn’t seem commercial in her photo.  So who competes with McKey? Analeigh,  the girl with high strong fashion poses…but with a face more on the commercial side? or  Sam, the girl with high fashion photos but in person still stuck in a ball. Tyra flips over the photo. Ooh nooo …they call Samantha – Analeigh is going home!!!! Ooooh no!!!! They are both in tears. Oooh nooooo!!!  Final two are McKey and Samantha!!!

I am so shocked that Analeigh got kicked off - so shocked! My mouth dropped open! What!!?? She is by far the best one and they are basing the whole thing on that one commercial - shocking. I am totally sad now, she was my favourite to win! Whatever, this sucks

Tyra gives Analeigh a hug and asks her if she’s proud of herself. Analeigh says yes. They play very dramatic music.  Analeigh is in tears. Says she should look into modeling campaigns.  Analeigh is very upset.  She says she has no regrets though.  She says she won’t look back in shame and that she gave her best. Awww what a trooper! 

Awww, this sucks.

We don’t even jump into a commercial here they just jump right into the final two now.  They are just scooting through this one as it’s only an hour long instead of the usual two.  They aren’t even giving poor Analeigh a commercial break! 

The cameras jump to McKey and Sam.  They meet the Seventeen Magazine lady.  She tells them they’ll be shooting their cover for Seventeen today.  Whoever wins  America’s Next Top Model, will win a cover and spread in Seventeen.  Both girls have fun with the shoot.  They both impressed the Seventeen lady.

Sam says she was only 17 three months ago? Oh shut up! They both look too peppy in my opinion

The girls then hop in the limo bus and arrive at a Candy Land type fashion show. The runway is pink and all hills.

The runway is amazing - I want to walk on that. I would be so scared of falling over though - I probably would

Girls scoot over to hair and make-up.  The girls are in some baked potato foil looking dress with big hair clips.  Tyra arrives to greet the girls.  Tells them it’s ok to tell themselves that they are nervous.  She tells them to “make momma proud”.

Uggh, I hate when she says that.

The girls both want this so bad.   Samantha tells us “This is America’s Next Top Model best runway show ever. It’s about to go down right now right here in this auditorium and it’s going to be insane”

Witney is walking in the show too - does anyone remember a previous winner coming back as much as Witney this season? I don't - does she not have other jobs?

Mr Jay asks them how they are feeling.  He then asks if they are feeling good.  These girls are so nervous I doubt they are feeling good.  This is big! 

McKey is worried about falling down.  Yeah I would be too with those hills!  She’s hoping she can pull it all together at last second.

The fashion show starts...

Miss Jay comes out with a giant pink balloon.

Whitney comes out first (Cycle 10 winner).  Boring

I thought it was her!

McKey looks very serious.  I think she did well.  She was basking in the glory she says.  Haha easily distracted just like when she was on the boat.

Sam is up – she’s super nervous and shaking. She did ok I guess but had a weird expression on her face.

The girls have to change very fast into their next outfits.

Mckey is up again in a new pretty blue dress. Sam has another baked potato dress on.   These are evening gowns.   They have to walk side by side.  Mckey looks better.. she rocked this.

Finale time.

All the girls come out together clapping ..then the photographer comes out and there is more clapping.  This looks like a Miss Universe Pageant with all the evening gowns and hair updos. 

Their eye make-up up close looks scary.  I don’t’ think I’m a fan of those gowns…they’re just too much.

Both girls did really well on the runway I thought - at least no one fell over. That runway was so hard! I can't even imagine. Personally I think Sam was better on the runway though

The girls arrive at panel in baked potato dress number three.  These are awful..just awful.  Mckey looks like a warrior princess however and almost pulls it off. Sam just no she doesn’t pull it off.

I didn't even notice what they were wearing!

Judges  are Nigel, Miss Jay, Paulina and Tyra.

Tyra is wearing some kind of strange, vulcan, futuristic outfit - it looks awful

She reminds them of all the prizes. Contract with Elite Model Management. Cover and spread in Seventeen Magazine and a $100,00 contract with CoverGirl. 

They critique them on their runway walks:

McKey is up first – love her first walk but they loved her second walk. Said she looked more secure.  Loved her facial expressions in front of the judges. 

Sam – said she did fantastic.  But that her mouth showed she was nervous

McKey was way better I think

Photo shoots:

Voting shoot – neither was brilliant but both showed potential.

Their first photo shoot was so funny in comparison to their photos now!

Swim suit shoot – Two of the best photos that day.

Great swimsuit photo shoot, especially Sam's

Clipper ship shoot – Nigel thought McKey had the best of the two.

McKey's boat photo was better - great legs

The Tyra shot – This was Sam’s Calvin Klein shot – awesome shot.  In the glam shot McKey did an awesome job too.

Sam's natural photo is just so Calvin Klein - it's too perfect. McKey's glam shot is better than Sam's, although Sam's is really creative

The judges will deliberate…and when the girls return Tyra will announce who will become America’s Next Top Model.

The judges are deliberating.  Tyra asks “who the hell is America’s Next Top Model?”

Nigel gives his two cents first. Says in person how commercial Sam looks but is capable of doing high fashion pictures. Paulina says what you see isn’t what you get. 

McKey – Nigel says she didn’t have much personality in the beginning but she looked like a star tonight.  Says there is hope.  Miss Jay thinks McKey has the high fashion going on.

I love how Nigel called them 'line backer-ish'... um, really? They are way skinner and more lithe than the average girl. If they are line backers, what are we? 

They go back and forth on stuff.  I can’t keep up. Only one of them is America’s Next Top Model.

Tyra says they’ve reached a decision.

The girls are still in their baked potato gowns and walk back in. McKey’s is pink and Sam’s is white. Just awful I tell you awful. 

Oh I thought Sam's was really nice!

Tyra ‘s outfit is awful too.  She has this dress with horrible pointy shoulder pad things.  It looks like something from the Jetson’s.  

Hahaha - yes!

She tell’s us America’s Next Top Model is McKey Sullivan! (aka Brittany "McKey" Sullivan) Yea!!!!!

McKey!! I knew it. It's not too surprising I guess

McKey Sullivan is America’s Next Top Model!!!! She screams  (aughhh!!!) and then McKey lifts Tyra up.  Sam is sad.  Tyra asks if Sam is proud of herself and to go out there and kick ass.  Aww I sorta feel bad for Sam but she just wasn’t as good as McKey. 

I feel bad for Sam - she did so well towards the end and I hope she goes far, even though her voice is still annoying. I can't believe she never saw herself as pretty before - she's gorgeous

McKey is kinda cookoo but I like her.  I don’t think she’s from New Zealand.  I’m glad she won.

Poor Analeigh ,but I think Panteen or a box hair color company should pick her up for commercials.  Sam, I think could use some more practice and then she’ll be ok.  I’m glad McKey won.  Go McKey!

McKey did really well though and sent a message that a girl who has muslces and works out can actually still be a real model and doesn't have to starve herself to look amazing - an important message I think.
