America's Next Top Model (ANTM) Cycle 12 Episode 9 'The Amazing Model Race'

The girls are going to Brazil!

They are super excited but Teyona still talks about how it is still a competition and you can't ever forget that. They pack their stuff and head to the airport and arrive in sunny Brazil. A bus is waiting for them and the girls get a little tour before they get to a grassy area where Fernando Motta is waiting with some drummers and dancers. She gives them a card and the girls have to find The girl from Ipanema and the first one is the winner.

Fo and Natalie team up, Teyona and Aminat team up, and Celia and Allison team up. 

They have to get some flowers for her and then go to find her at the Botanical Gardens. Fo and Natalie are the winners! They get a little concert of the famous song and then they are given the key to their new house.

The winners get Havaianas flip flops, some of which have crystals in them. They decide on their beds and find out they have to share. Natalie thinks that is really weird.

Commercial.

Celia complains about how Natalie is always complaining.

Tyra Mail! 'Fight or flight: you better give me both'

The girls arrive at their photo shoot and a Capoeira demonstration is going on. It can help models move better. The girls have to lean some moves, but they don't give it a very good shot. Aminat says it looks painful to watch Natalie do it. Celia and Aminat square off against each other and Celia accidentially kicks Aminat in the face!

They then get changed and then Miss Jay and Jay appear. They have to use their Capoeira skills in their photo shoot. The winner will get 50 percent more frames from other girl in the next shoot. Teyona doesn't do very well, but the Fo, Allison and Celia, do quite well with lots of different poses. Natalie doesn't do very well either and Aminat struggles as well.

The winner of the shoot is Fo!

She cuts Teyona's next photo shoot in half as payback for not picking her to take part in the last challenge Teyona won.

The girls go back to the house. Tyra Mail! 'Tomorrow you will see the fruits of your labours'.

Teyona and Fo argue about Go taking away Teyona's frames and Teyona acts like she doesn't care, but she does.

Commercial.

The girls arrive at their photo shoot in a favela and they are going to be styled as Carmen Miranda. They must bring their sex appeal and Natalie is relieved as she's good at that. (eye roll)

They get ready and get in their costumes and they have to wear huge fruit dress headpieces. Celia is first and they do their shoot right in the favela. She is not cutting edge enough though.

Teyona is still upset about Fo and Fo pretends not to care, but she does.

Allison is next for the shoot and she does quite well; she's quite alive.

Natalie's shoot is good, Jay likes it.

Aminat is next and she's too stiff, her creativity is just not coming through.

Teyona (the one with the least frames) is good and she does well with the least frames.

Fo (the one with the most frames) but she is way too over the top, 'like Carmen Miranda on crack' says Jay. 

The girls finish and go back to the house and get their final Tyra Mail of the episode. Natalie is not nervous about panel at all. Aminat is nervous for sure, you can tell, and Fo is worried (and rightly so I think).

Commercial

The judging panel is set up and Tyra goes over the prizes again. The girls all look very colourful in their outfits. Fernando Motta is the guest judge.

Aminat's photo is good, but not too exciting. Paulina calls her 'beautiful and boring' (ouch)

Natalie's photo is ok, but again, not too exciting. Natalie tries to blame it on Jay but she lies when she says that he never wanted her to change her pose ever.

Celia's photo is ok again, but it doesn't have a spark in it.

Allison's photo is good and the judges like it (finally)

Fo's photo is cute but it's too similar to Carmen Miranda and is not unique enough.

Teyona's photo is sassy, but it's not Carmen Miranda at all. The judges like it however.

Commercial.

The judges decide on who to send home from Brazil and who to keep. They really don't like Natalie at all, but think that Allison has stepped it up a knotch. Tyra calls Celia 'old' and says her face looks like she is in her 30s, not 25, which how old she really is.

There are five girls left:

1. Allison

2. Teyona

3. Fo

4. Celia

There are only Aminat and Natalie left. Tyra says Natalie is very pretty but she poses too much in her photos and is uninspiring. The judges like Aminat too but her photos are way too boring and she poses too much in her head.

Aminat gets to stay!

Natalie looks upset and says this is the only panel she was not nervous for.

Next week the girls go on 'go-sees' and try to impress Brazilian designers and have a sexy photo shoot on the beach.
