America's Next Top Model - Cycle 12 Episode 3 (S012E03) Review

Episode 3 of America's Next Top Model (ANTM) 'Do you Light the way I look?'

Tonight is the make-over show!

The remaining girls:

The credits already show the girls in their makeover looks it seems - London especially looks so different!

The girls are standing around admiring Allison's picture in the house, while Fo gushes about her own photo. Aminat thinks Isabella should not have gone home and tells Sandra as much. Sandra just says 'at the end of the day it's all about me'. Jessica is mad about the critique on her photo as the judges just said it was too pretty with not enough substance.

Tyra Mail! (screaming)

The next morning the girls get picked up by this pink plaid limo and they run, screaming towards it. (it's actually kind of cool)

Then it shows the two Jays meeting at Bergdorf Goodman and they get a 'mission' from Tyra who tells them they have to transform the 'wannabes' into 'fierce fashion models'. Jay says 'copy that T' (no, seriously he says that).

The girls arrive, excited, and they scream wildly when they are going to get makeovers. John Barrett is doing their hair. The girls don't get to see what they will look like until after their makeover though. Some girls are nervous, some are excited and London just looks bored.

Jessica will 'edged out' and her hair will be shorter and red.

Sandra is now getting blond really short hair. Sandra is amazed how beautiful she is. (no really, she said that)

Allison is now getting blond long extensions.

Nijha is getting a longer weave.

Fo gets a pixie cut and it's really short.

Celia gets really short hair, but it's still blond. Celia starts to cry, but she likes it in the end.

Aminat gets her weave taken off and instead gets really long straight hair.

Kortnie is now a red head

London gets a really short white blond cut

Natalie starts freaking out and doesn't want John to cut her hair. He gets mad and can't deal with it and walks off. Natalie starts to cry.

Commercial

Natalie is still freaking out, but she finds out that she is not changing at all and Fo is mad because she got nothing done to her.

Teyona is getting long wavy hair.

Tahlia gets long gorgeous hair as well.

Fo starts to cry because she got all her hair cut and some girls got really long hair. Sandra has no sympathy for her at all.

The girls go back home - Tyra Mail!!

Fo starts crying again about how ugly she thinks she is now with short hair. Jessica is more in love with herself than ever (it's awful)

The next day the girls arrive for their photo shoot. Elyssa Starkman is there as the Cover Girl representative and she has brought with her the entire Wal-Mart shopping experience to New York because there are no Wal-Marts in NYC (lucky them).

The girls have to go out in the streets and find a woman who they think represents what Cover Girl is all about and bring her back and match her to the new Cover Girl Eyelights mascara. The winning team gets to be in an Exact Eyelights photo shoot on the intenet.

The girls are split into four teams of three. They all find their women on the street and bring them back. Sandra does not impress the judges.

London, Tahila, Jessica

Allison, Nijha, Natalie

The winners are:

Aminat, Celia and Sandra!

Aminat is still complaining about Sandra though.

The girls go to dinner together and Sandra starts getting mad because Aminat is drinking. Best phrase of the night, Aminat says 'keep it cute or put it on mute'.

Commercial

Tyra Mail! (again?)

Sandra using her immense wit figures out it must be a photo shoot (duh)

The girls arrive in some back alley where Jay is standing in darkness and then he tells them 'it's all about the light'. He tells them they will have to do their own lighting for this shoot. They get their first chance at a photo shoot with ANTM judge Nigel Barker.

The photo shoot is a rock and roll theme and Nigel tries to tell them about lighting. Allison looks confused. They have to pose together in groups of four. Nigel was really disappointed in Nijha and Jessica doesn't find her light at all.

Aminat gets upstaged by Celia, who wasn't even the focus of the picture. Celia does well in her shoot. Sandra, who criticized Aminat so much, came off as looking bored in her shoot. Kortnie did not inspire Nigel at all in her shoot.

London (who looks so different!) looks good in her shot. Teyona was really good; Jay loved her. Fo did not do as well and she is still blaming it on her hair. She says she looks like 'plain Jane's brother'. Natalie does well.

The girls go home for more Tyra Mail and the girls discuss their photo shoots. Fo is really nervous that she is going home.

Commercial

The girls arrive for judging - and Tyra goes over the prizes again. Nole Marin is back as a guest judge (remember him?)

Fo is up first for judging. Her photo is good, but she needs to let go of her hair issues now. She needs to step it up.

Kortnie did a bad job with her lighting as she lit herself from the side.

Nijha's outfit is bad but her photo is not much better as her eyes are dead.

London's photo is good; very dramatic.

Allison has a good pose and looks 'alien-like'

Sandra radiates a dullness in her photo.

Celia's photo is amazing - the judges love it.

Jessica did not take a pretty picture at all.

Tahlia did not look like a model in her picture either

Natalie is wearing bad clothes as well but her picture is amazing.

Teyona's hair is not working for her and will need to be done again. Her photo is great though.

Aminat blends into the photo too much and you can't even see her. Nole says her face looks like a 'hush puppy'.

Commercial

The judges discuss how the girls did in their photo shoot. They say pretty much the same as what they said in panel.

Tyra calls the girls back and she now only has 11 photos in her hand.

The two girls left are Fo and Jessica. Tyra says Fo let her makeover get the best of her and couldn't let it go. Jessica is really pretty, but her pretty is not translating to her photos.

Fo gets to stay, but Tyra says she needs to get over it.

Jessica is upset and Tyra tells her she needs to figure out that it's about more than just being pretty. Jessica can't believe that she got kicked out as she's never heard anything but 'you are so pretty'.

NEXT WEEK! Miss Jay teaches them charm and the girls pay truth or dare, which lead to some bitch slaps! yay!
