Everyone's favourite Tyra Banks show is started again tonight on the CW Network at 8pm PST, America's Next Top Model Cycle 13, and this time, there was a twist!

Previously on ANTM, only girls over 5ft 7 were accepted to be a top model, but this cycle Tyra is giving shorter girls a chance by allowing models under 5 ft 7 to take part, and potentially follow in the footsteps of Top Model Kate Moss.

If you want to catch up on any ANTM news, see our channel.

The show starts with all the girls going through casting and casting director Bradford trying to convince them that there's no room in the modeling world for girls that are short. Tyra comes out though amid screaming and says 'hell no!'

All the girls are measured though and some are as short as 5 ft 3, but Miss Jay says they have to learn to walk properly regardless of how tall they are. Sundai says that 'real people are short' (how profound).

Panel continues with the girls - some of whom are very religious, have a broken foot, live in a pop-up trailer in New Orleans, and many who insist they 'have a brain' and are not just 'airhead models'.

Brittany, the math major, lives in the basement of the library (seriously).

Sundai comes in with a big scream and says she has had a very hard life and talks about how her family was really evil before and her mum used to beat her.

The girls are dancing with each other already and everyone hates Amber already who says 'lovinger' (seriously). Amber then comes in front of panel talking about God and she displays how she dances for homeless people, which is really like a hoochy dance.

Erin likes reading (boring)

Kara castrates sheep

Lulu is gay and has her girlfriend's name tattooed on her chest

Nicole was born with a bloody eyeball (gross) but she paints, which is cool.

Laura is also a farmer (I like her accent)

Rae is beautiful and describes how she was sexually assaulted when she was younger

The girls have their first cut and the winners of this round have to audition for a runway show for Tyra. Amber says she doesn't need any help, she's perfect (right).

Jay talks to Amber and gets kind of a kick out of the fact that Jesus told her to become a model.

After this runway, Tyra, Miss Jay and Jay have to pick who are the finalists for Cycle 13 (they are below). Some of the girls I don't even remember to be honest.

There are 15 finalists:

Cycle 13: meet the cast!

Lisa

Rachel

Ashley

Kara

Rae

Bianca

Courtney

Brittany

Jennifer (screaming girl)

Lulu

Erin (swearing girl)

Laura

Nicole

Sundai

Amber (loves Jesus but is not featured on the official ANTM cast page)

The second part of the premiere show is the make-overs or as Tyra calls them 'Tyra-overs'.

When they arrive, Amber is not with the girls. Sundai wonders where she is, but doesn't give too much thought to it.

Jay explains that Amber had to leave due to personal issues, and they welcome back Lisa instead.

They are at the Sally Hershberger Salon for their make-overs. I love the make-over part of the show. I want Tyra to make me over.

We do find out that Bianca doesn't like Lisa very much though. Bianca doesn't seem to be very nice in my opinion.

Bianca cries about her eyebrow make-over, I am so tired of this girl already.

Some of the girls just love themselves so much after their make-overs.

They do get to see their cool new house though, which is amazing and they even have a runway to practice on. The house also has funhouse mirrors (I guess because the girls are so short).

Bianca is still running her mouth, but I am liking Laura more and more I have to say.

They get their first Tyra Mail though, and go to their first challenge the next day. For their first photo shoot the girls have to do an editorial interpretation of their childhood photos

Exciting!

Rae had to wear the craziest shoes! They looked so painful.

Bianca (shockingly) is complaining about her make-up, and Jay tells her to suck it up. She is too severe in her photos and complained about everything!

Brittany is too pornographic for her photos.

Lisa looks like she is so depressed, she might kill herself at any moment.

Nicole is quite quiet and Jay asks if she's awake, but her photoshoot is amazing.

Laura was really good (love her)

It's now panel time.

Rachel did well, as did Ashley. Brittany is a bit too sexy for this project. Jennifer looks stunning in her picture. Kara is pretty but looks a little flat. Rae looks gorgeous and looks like a doll (I am also loving her). Sundai's picture is ok, but not great and her neck looks 'thick's says Nigel. Lisa is next but her picture is not great either. Nicole's picture is fierce and the judges love it. Laura looks good, just needed more arch in her back. Bianca looks good but Tyra brings up her issue with the make-up. Erin is good, Lulu looks very cute, Courtney's picture looks like artwork, but she is a bit muscular.

It's decision time!

The girls continuing on are:

Rae

Nicole

Jennifer

Ashley

Courtney

Erin

Lulu

Rachel

Laura

Kara

Brittany

Sundai

It's down to Bianca and Lisa. Tyra only has one photo in her hand. Bianca gets to stay (hopefully this will keep her quiet for a while).

Lisa has to go home. She's upset but she doesn't seem too bad.

Tune in next week for our next review!

Hey guys... Laura Kirpatrick, the ANTM model from Kentucky is blogging about what it is like watching the show each week... it's at laurasmodellife.com. I'm pretty sure this is the first time ever that a contestant on a reality show was allowed to blog while the show was underway.
