America's Next Top Model - Cycle 14 Episode 10 Review (S014EP10)

Cycle 14 Episode 10, the Season Finale of America's Next Top Model 'Ugly-Pretty Woman' aired Wednesday on the CW Network at 8pm PST. Followed by the Finale episode 'America's Next Top Model Is'.

ANTM started with 13 girls vying to be America's Next Top Model.

The Episode Begins:

The final four get back to the house and marvel at how they all made it to the final four. Krista says she does not want to go back to being a store manager and she really wants to win. So does Alexandra, who knows that as a plus-sized model she has an even more uphill battle. Seems like the other three are hating on Raina a bit though for being immature and think she is getting annoying. Raina knows the others don't like and uses that to her advantage - good for her she's come a long way, she should be really happy. According to Raina, volleyball and modeling saved her life... interesting.

Angelea is complaining about Krista being in the top all the time. Well she has to take better pictures.

Then the girls get a surprise from Andre Leon Talley who drops by with some gorgeous flowers that Angelea says looked like they cost a lot of money. He talks to them about how it is important to be polite then they get to ask him questions, about what dreck means and how it is to work at Vogue. This is like an Andre Leon Talley interview and is not about Top Model at all, but it's interesting. We find out he worked for Andy Warhol once, wow! Super cool!

Angelea then compares her upbringing in Buffalo to Andre starting out in New York - I guess it's kind of the same...

Andre leaves then the girls get a message from Tyra that they are leaving and need to pack an overnight bag. They find out they are going to Queenstown to photograph with the diverse terrain. Miss Jay turns out to be on the plane however and to the delight of everyone else on the plane I'm sure, the girls have to perform a challenge! Eek! The girls are so unprepared for it. 

The jaws drop and the girls are nervous, but really at this point in the competition what did they expect? Everything is a challenge on ANTM!

The girls have to bring their personality to the runway walk so hopefully Angelea will do that crazy club walk that she did at panel a few weeks ago. Angelea then reveals that she brought one heel with her and Krista flips out and says she wants to punch Angelea in the throat (on the individual camera don't worry), but still... wow, harsh.

Alexandra goes first and although she stops along the way to chat too much, her walk is really good. 

Krista does a good job too, lots of style and personality comes out.

Angelea does do some kind of club walk (yay!) and really almost dances down the aisle. It's weird. 

Raina though has no personality at all in her walk, it's boring, although you can see that she tried with the walk.

Jay says Angelea took it as too much of a joke, but the winner is Krista. I thought Alexandra was going to win actually. Poor Alexandra she looks like she's going to cry. :(

Krista now gets to walk in the New Zealand fashion show - so cool!

The girls arrive in Queenstown and as Raina says 'it is so Lord of the Rings'. 

It's not great weather though, but the girls find out that for their photo shoot, the scenery will be pretty and the girls will be ugly. Yay, I love these pretty-ugly shoots.

We find out that at the end of the judging panel, two people will be going home! 

The girls get all 'ugly-ed' up and boy do they ever! It's a lot of black make-up and black lipstick and some 18th century / modern clothes. The clothes are kind of cool actually.

Krista goes first and her shoot is great, she just needed to connect her eyes a bit to the 'ugly' part of the photos. 

Angelea is wearing a crazy corset (poor girl).

Alexandra is next and she is also wearing a corset, and her shoot is really pretty, but is not that creative. It needed to get more ugly and not as pretty. She gets better though.

Raina is third and she has some crazy eyebrows! Her shoot goes well, but too pretty again and not ugly enough. She took direction well though but I'm not sure she did well enough to stay.

Angelea goes last but she struggles and is not angry or intense enough. Jay says her shoot is 'blank'. She says she wishes she had a mute button so that she could 'tune his ass out' haha! Her shoot gets a bit better though. She tells Jay that he is her energy because she gets so tired of him, Jay laughs.

The girls get back to the house and Krista's jewellery is waiting for her on the table, lucky girl. Raina says to the camera that Krista is all about herself and she does not care about anyone else. Tensions are getting high! I hope there will be a cat fight soon!

The girls get to judging panel and soon we will be saying bye to two of them! Oh no, I wonder who will be in the top two?

Raina is up for judging first and her photo is actually 'ugly-pretty', and her eyes look really great and intense. Tyra says that she did not do enough to break out of her box though.

Angelea is up next and her photo looks like she is really scared of something. Tyra likes it, but most of the other judges do not.

Krista is third and the judges fawn over her for a second and then show her picture, which of course is fabulous. Andre Leon Talley even seems like he's going to cry about her photo.. wow. I think we can end the show right now. Let's just call it a day.

Alexandra has to follow that critique (poor girl) and the judges do not fawn over hers in the same way, but it is a good photo and she did a good job.

The judges deliberate and now it seems as if the final two will definitely be Krista. It's now just a question of who will be with her in the final. They talk about how Angelea could go on to model even if she does not win, which seems as if she is not going to be in the final two in my opinion.

Tyra says that Alexandra is so gorgeous, but her pictures are not great on a consistent basis. Raina is also beautiful with amazing eyes, but she lacks creativity. Angelea is edgy and interesting, but she cannot take critique well. Raina gets to be in the final two. 

Alexandra and Angelea have to go home and both are really upset but they did so well and came so far so they should be really proud of themselves. Angelea does a crazy dance on the way out, aww I'm going to miss her. The other two pack to go home but they seem positive and upbeat, which is nice to see.

Now it's the second half!

The girls are going to walk in an Anna Sui fashion show (jealous!) and both Raina and Krista congratulate themselves on getting this far. Krista says she just needs to beat Raina, who once again talks about volleyball.

The girls get Tyra Mail and find out they are leaving again and Raina observes that she does not think Krista likes her (um, yeah no kidding).

They take a helicopter to this beautiful lodge where this cute guy is waiting with champagne (yummy) and then Miss Jay walks in. No rest for the wicked! They find out they will be shooting their Cover Girl commercial and find out they are selling the whole Blast collection. Raina is over-confident, while Krista is nervous.

Nicole comes out from last season with crazy red hair to give them tips on personality (which is strange because Nicole always struggled so much with personality last cycle).

Raina's confidence is starting to annoy me a bit, but I guess it's better to be confident than not. Her still photo is really beautiful though.

Krista is ready to shoot her commercial and her first take is very stiff and uncomfortable, poor girl! She gets really nervous, I feel bad for her. She gets to take 7 and requests the cue cards, which is apparently the kiss of death in commercials. She holds it together though and does a good job. It's good she can laugh it off. She then gets her still photo done and it is very pretty when she smiles.

Raina's commercial starts off in kind of the same way that Krista's did and she starts losing the lines as well. She is a bit fake, but once she settles in to her lines she does a better job, although Jay does not seem as impressed with her.

The next day the girls are doing their Seventeen cover shoot with Nigel and they get to dress up in young fresh clothes and shoot cute pictures for the magazine. Both do a good job and Nigel is impressed with both.

They get back to their house and Tyra is standing in their living room and she wants to do a family portrait with them. 

Then she reveals that the girl's families are here and there is a touching moment of reunion, it brought tears to my eyes. Tyra is taking the pictures of their family and Krista's family is beautiful and their photos are amazing! Wow! We can see where Krista gets it from. Raina's dad is so adorable as well and they look really great together.

The parents then have to leave and it is an emotional goodbye, but a nice moment for ANTM.

Now it's back to work though as the girls arrive for the Anna Sui runway show. Alasia, Jessica, Alexandra and Angelea are coming back for the fashion show too! Fun!

Angelea is clearly on 'Team Krista', Jessica is on 'Team Raina' and the girls get ready to strut their stuff. The clothes are adorable by the way, so cute. The show is really cool too, with a circus theme and funky music.

Krista has a good walk and she's more bouncy than normal. Raina's walk is not as bouncy and is slower but it's good and she' smiling a lot too. Then it's a quick change and they are out on the runway again, but this time with a partner and Krista and Raina have to walk together. They do well together, although I'm still not sure about Raina's walk.

It's almost the end! The fashion show is over and the girls have done everything they can.

Then it's the moment where the girls talk about growing up and how they could never see themselves getting to this point. Krista cries and so does Raina and it seems like whichever one wins they will go far in their career and they want to make a difference in girl's lives.

It's judging time! The girls both look fabulous by the way! Tyra is wearing something kind of weird however and Miss Jay has a crazy hat on. Boy I'm going to miss this show!

The judges critique the fashion show; they say Krista had a bit of a harder walk but it was cute, and Raina was too heavy-footed, although Tyra loved it.

Then we get to see the Cover Girl photos, Raina's is missing a 'sparkle' according to Andre and Krista's is not connecting to her eyes. Then we get to see their commercial and it's really good, I could totally see it on TV. Raina needed to be more bright and open according to the judges and Krista lost a bit of herself in the commercial. 

The judges deliberate now and it seems like it is a really hard decision. They think Raina is better for photos than runway and Krista would be good for both. 

Eek! It's time to announce the winner!

America's Next Top Model is:

Krista

It's not really a surprise to those of us that have watched the season but Raina did so well and good for her she does not cry and she's so positive. I like that about her.

Krista is amazing and takes such great photos and has the best bone structure. She is going to go far I'm sure!
