America's Next Top Model - Cycle 14 Episode 3 Review (S014EP3)

Cycle 14 Episode 3 of America's Next Top Model 'Let's Dance' aired Wednesday on the CW Network at 8pm PST.

ANTM is back for another cycle with 13 more girls vying to be America's Next Top Model.

The Episode Begins:

The girls go back to the house after Naduah was eliminated (still surprised about that), and Brenda talks about how her picture did not go well last week. She says she misses her daughter and with her drastic hair cut, she's having an identity crisis. 

Ren of course is already complaining, saying that being a model is her mom's dream (pretty lame reason to come on the show if you ask me) and says her mom chooses her brother over her all the time. Ren needs to be quiet, she should just go home. Clearly she doesn't want to be in the house really.

The girls have to get up early the next morning and they get on this cool looking bus called the 'Fab Bus' and out pops Toccara Jones from Cycle 'I can't remember' and Alexandra is most excited to meet her as she is also a plus-sized model.

Toccara is going to test the girls on their fashion knowledge and she divides them in to teams. The prizes for this contest if fantastic, I would love to win that! I liked it until the words 'mega fierce' kept flashing on the screen.

Anslee gets the first point for the red team. Ren gets a question right for the red team as well. The blue team is starting to suck. Simone finally gets a point for the blue team. Then they are on a roll and the teams are neck and neck! eek! It comes down to Tatianna and Angelea and Angelea wins. Brenda of course is nervous and she fluffs it for the red team so they lose. Anslee is super mad that they are now losers. 

The blue team, because they won, get to now go on a go-see and one of them gets to be featured in a spring campaign. So exciting! They all get a gift certificate to BlueFly.com though.

Raina's walk is awful, too slouchy. Jessica (love her!) but I agree with the judges, she is too thin. 

The losing team has to help with BlueFly's inventory, which sucks. Brenda is complaining and Anslee blames Brenda for losing.

Back on the winning team, Angelea is doing some really weird awful poses for the judges, kind of like she is in a gym catalogue. They like Alexandra however.

Ren is complaining again while doing inventory and says she even misses her mom (shocker! *rolls eyes*).

Simone did a good job at the go-see, I think she was the best. Krista is too thin I think, but her posing is good. 

The winner of the BlueFly challenge is Simone! Yay! Jessica is shocked as she thinks Simone is too pageant - wow, we haven't seen Jessica be catty yet!

Back at the house at the end of the day, Krista and Brenda are arguing and laughing about how Brenda looks like Miranda from Sex and the City, which I find really offensive because I love Sex and the City. Ren of course tells Brenda and Ren says that is a direct offense to Tyra and twists the argument in to the fact that the other girls called her ugly, which they didn't. Then Anslee just lets loose on Brenda and the frustration of the day comes out. Anslee is annoying me, she's too much of a 'know-it-all'. 

The girls get their Tyra Mail saying 'Top Models Always Need to be in Step' - a dancing step that is.

They arrive at a dance school where Jay is waiting and find out that their photo shoot is going to be inspired by dance. Brenda is already nervous. Troy Powell from the Alvin Ailey Dance Company is going to help the girls one on one though, to inspire them.

Anslee gets rhythmic dancing and she says she thinks it might suck but she's not a complainer so she's not going to complain - um yeah, right, cough cough....

Jessica is salsa dancing and she starts off bad but gets way better.

Angelea gets moshing and she actually does a good job.

Tatianna is tap and she's a bit too peppy for me, but her poses are quite 'tap-like'. Ren meanwhile is still complaining. She gets disco dancing for her style and she is a bit flat; her face does not change. Jay is tired of her as well.

Alexandra is break dancing but she does really well, I'm starting to really like her.

Raina is jazz and she also does a great job. 

Brenda gets African dancing but her shoot is super boring and she is scared of looking too old. Anslee is on the sidelines smirking and making fun - I don't like Anslee, she's not very nice.

Krista is a ballet dancer and she looks about as graceful as a hippo in a tutu. She gets better though.

Simone is a hip-hop dancer and she looks awkward at first and it doesn't get much better. Jay also thinks she sucks. He says she shows a lack of commitment. Simone then cries, now I feel bad.

Alasia gets interpretive dance and Jay is just loving it. I think it looks super weird, but Jay is in love with her. You can feel the jealously waves through the TV screen from the other girls. 

After the shoot, Ren is still complaining about how she misses her life. She says the house is so hostile, which you can totally see, I can't imagine living with all those girls, awful. Brenda says that if she went home over Ren she would be really pissed as she really wants to be there.

It's judging time!

Jessica is up first and her picture is good, but it lacks a little emotion. Andre loves her shoe and pointed foot though.

Raina's jazz photo is good too and it's not too 'dancer-like'.

Anslee's photo is not liked by Andre and Tyra says too 'on the nose'.

Andre likes Simone's photo too but Tyra says it is too safe.

Tatianna's photo is good as a close-up, but from far away it's really not good. Tyra says that very few photos of hers are good.

Tyra makes fun of Brenda's clothes and says again that she is looking older. Her photo is also not that good and the camera shows Anslee snickering.

Alasia is wearing a tiny string shirt, it's awful, but her photo is amazing and all the judges love it.

Alexandra's photo is great, but she loses her neck a bit.

Angelea's photo is good and her close-up is great.

Krista's ballet photo is really pretty, I like it.

Ren's photo is awful, it's so fake. She only did four poses for the whole shoot and she says they were the only four they were taught (lame!). Ren then complains about the drama in the house and Tyra asks her if she wants to stay or go.... then of course, cut to commercial break.

When the show comes back, Ren says that she wants to stay, which she may regret later.

The judges deliberate and they basically rehash what they said in panel already. They do throw the word 'dreckitude' around a lot however. They still think Ren's photo is a mess. Andre says Brenda's photo is 'dreck winner of the week'. Ouch.

They also make fun of Alasia's outfit again, what on earth was she thinking!??

It's down to Ren and Brenda. Either one could go home at this point. Tyra said that even though Ren was hand picked she may not have what it takes, and then Ren says that she likes modeling but she's doing the show to get her mother's attention.

Brenda was going to be picked anyway and Ren is going home. She doesn't look too upset. Brenda finds out she's going to get a new makeover too. Exciting!

I know feel bad for Ren, she really just seems like she wants her mom's approval so bad, it's sad. I hope she finds something more meaningful in her life.
