America's Next Top Model - Cycle 14 Episode 8 Review (S014EP8)
Cycle 14 Episode 8 of America's Next Top Model 'Welcome to New Zealand' aired Wednesday on the CW Network at 8pm PST.
ANTM is back for another cycle with 13 more girls vying to be America's Next Top Model.
If you want to catch up on any ANTM news, see our channel.
The Episode Begins:
The girls are leaving New York and heading to New Zealand and Alexandra knows that she needs to step up her game in order to stay out of the bottom two next week.
They go back to their New York loft, see Krista's picture on the wall and then get packed for New Zealand with lots of screaming! Alasia is surprised that she is still in the competition, which we kind of are as well, but finally they are off.
We get to see Angelea and Krista in first class; they are so lucky, it looks so nice! They arrive then some token shots of New Zealand and Jessica admits that she thought New Zealand was right above Canada - um, note to Jessica, do not admit that on national television!
They arrive at a field and get to see some traditional Maori people dancing and then Miss Jay walks out and introduces a host of New Zealand's Next Top Model. They then find out they have to go in a taxi and go on go-sees right away, right off the plane, lovely.
After a 22 hour flight I look like a nightmare.
They have four hours to go on as many as they can and it's a big race to get in front of the other. Angelea says she is the smartest and is going to start farthest away and walk backwards. Raina and Alexandra arrive at the same place at the same time and Raina sneaks past Alexandra at the last moment - too bad a fight did not ensue.
Alasia arrives at her first go-see and she does quite well, but we find out that each girl had the same idea - to go the farthest and work backwards and they keep running in to each other. What a nightmare.
Jessica gets to her first go-see and she does quite well, although did not get booked.
Krista is kicking some serious ass at her go-sees, good for her. Alexandra seems to be quite slow at the go-sees and Jessica seems to be too commercial as well. They don't seem to be doing that well.
Krista admits that she would kill anyone to get to the top of the show; that actually scares me a bit.
Time is ticking on the go-sees and Krista is still going on about winning, getting kind of annoying now. Raina arrives when Krista is on her go-see and she does not do as good a job as Krista did.
Angelea's hair is getting frizzier and frizzier as it starts raining and Alexandra is still not doing that well. Poor girl! Alasia is continuing to impress and Krista arrives when Alasia is on her go-see and then proceeds to make fun of her walk.
Jessica is smart and says that she is going back to the agency so that she does not get disqualified. Raina does the same thing and Angelea also arrives back early. Alexandra is on time and fine, but Raina is having trouble and decides to walk and that was a mistake because she is late. Alasia is late and leaves her map so she has missed the cut-off time.
Krista arrives back three minutes late so that sucks for her. Raina is late with no map left and Alasia is obviously nowhere to be seen. Sucks when you do a good job but arrive back too late to be counted in the competition.
The girls get feedback, but Krista, Raina and Alasia were late so they were disqualified.
Jessica booked one out of four but she was too commercial.
Alexandra booked none and she did not have any make-up on.
Angelea booked six out of six, frizzy hair and all. However, she won!
The girls get to their new house (finally get some rest) and of course it is fabulous and amazing in every way. I want to live there. They collapse from being so tired.
In the morning they check out their fabulous house, wow it is so nice and they see a gorgeous rainbow over the water - sigh... amazing.
Now it's off to the photo shoot time! Jay is there in some field on a tractor with Nigel Barker and they find out they have to do a photo shoot with a sheep! They are quite cute actually, I like them. Krista is scared of them and doesn't like animals, but then she would also kill someone to win the show.
Alexandra is first and she gets to pose with this super fluffy sheep. She does a good job with the shoot, and Nigel says he loves it.
Jessica is next and the first thing she does is fall over. She is a bit awkward and is distracted and does not interact with the sheep at all. She also looks confused.
Alasia is distracted as well and does not do a good job on her shoot, doing the same pose over and over.
Raina is next and she does much better; Nigel loves her. Every shot is great and she is clearly thinking and following previous instructions.
Angelea overthinks it as well and at first asks if she can sit on the sheep! Um, no you can't! She focuses on the dress way too much.
Krista is last and she is scared of the sheep and thinks it will nibble on her arm (wtf). Her shoot is good and she interacts with the sheep well. I think she is so going to win.
The girls go back to the house and Jessica is concerned that she is going to go home. However, so is Alasia and Angelea gets mad when Jessica asks her how she did on her shoot. Woah, attitude.
Tyra is wearing another one-piece outfit to judging - interesting I suppose.
Raina is up first for judging and her photo is really amazing. It looks so good and dramatic. Tyra calls it a 'fairytale'.
Alasia is second and her photo has drama but she is lost in the photo. Nigel says that Alasia was boring to shoot.
Alexandra is third and her photo is good, I like it and the sheep looks really good.
Jessica is up next and her photo is very dramatic, but her eyes are not telling the story. Her face did not sell it.
Krista's photo is really good, amazing. Nigel calls her 'magical'. Everyone fawns over Krista and Tyra calls it the 'tornado of loveliness'.
Angelea is crazy and she reenacts her walking in to a club in her crazy dress; what is going on?? Her photo is just as odd and not as good as usual. Andre says it is his least favorite picture.
The judges deliberate and repeat pretty much the same thing they said in front of the girls. It seems like Jessica and Alasia are going to be in the bottom two I think.
Imagine having to get back on another 22 hour flight after just getting to New Zealand.. tragic.
The girls still in the running to be America's Next Top Model are:
It's down to Jessica and Alasia, oh no, I don't want Jessica to go home. Alasia is there because she lacks focus and does not bring herself to the shoots. Jessica is in the bottom two because she is pretty, but is too commercial and not high fashion enough.
Jessica gets to stay and Alasia has to go. Alasia had potential, but it was not enough, she needed to connect her brain to her body as Tyra said. She seems pretty upbeat though, good for her, I'd be a crying wreck.
Tune in next week for another review!
