British actress and singer Karen Elson will be replacing Angelina Jolie as the official face of St. John clothing. Apparently, Jolie was too famous and overshadowed the St. John brand. Jolie became the new face of St. John in 2006, but grew so famous in the three years that she is now taking attention away from St. John's message. Model Kelly Gray was also dropped by the brand.

On the other hand, 31-year-old Karen Elson is nowhere close in popularity to Angelina Jolie, although she is quite accomplished in both modeling and singing. Elson modeled for such brands as Marc Jacobs, Jean-Paul Gaultier and Chanel. Critics have been positive about her singing prowess as well. The red-haired Brit will become the new face for the formal wear brand that sells its clothes in 29 countries. St. John says Elson is an "epitome of the modern day woman: strong, confident, sensual and approachable with effortless glamour."
