Annual Open House and Air Show with the Blue Angels
The 2010 Joint Service Open House and Air Show had three days of excellent weather for an aerial extravaganza by the world's most famous pilots as well as historical and current displays of the aircraft from many wars, military vehicles and new technology.
The headliner for this year's program is the world famous Blue Angels flight demonstration team, now in their 64th year entertaining millions around the globe. The grace and beauty of the Blue Angels, as they fly into and out of formations, illustrates the pinnacle of precision flying. This is particularly evident when you see them in the diamond formation with only eighteen inches separating the wing of one plane and the cockpit of the next one. The pilots and crew are truly role models and ambassadors for the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps.
The Army's Golden Knights started the show each day with a tandem aerial jump, spiraling down with one soldier standing on another soldiers shoulders. A new demonstration by the Sky Soldiers was very unique with their four AH-1F Cobra Attack helicopters flying in a precision aerial demonstration. They are veteran pilots, many with combat experience, who demonstrate the unique capabilities of the attack helicopter in a close- to-the-ground aerial program.
Mark your calendars for next year to enjoy the expert flying and dedication of hundreds of volunteers who come together to honor America's military.
The aerial demonstrations by Sean Tucker, John Klatt, Greg Poe, included many aerobatics that had their planes skimming the runway, shooting straight up and performing death defying stunts. The crowds keep their heads tilted skyward most of the day watching the F-22 Raptor, F-16's and culminating with the Navy's Blue Angels.

I've been lucky enough to attend this show the last two years. It is always an amazing show. It's also a great time to remember those great folks in our military who work to keep us free. One of my favorite things about the Joint Service Open House is that all the branches are represented at the show. If you're in the area or looking for a great show to attend, I highly recommend the Joint Service Open House.
